I'm surprised (but not stunned) that we hadn't known about this before now. MLS Cup has been a home game for somebody for some time now. But I'm with you. This is a home game for somebody. Not by lottery or predetermined neutral site; it's an earned advantage. Whether it's us or any other club. You should get to sell the tickets to your own fans first.
Alright last bit of trying to give people hope. If you're willing to shell out here's a coupon code that allowed me to get a pretty nice discount on OSU tickets
Rep sent my code , 341 ppl in front of me in Que im expecting to see no tickets available but i have to try at least while i watch the Bengals embarrassing themselves
I have money but like many i can’t see myself paying scalpers that kinda money i can just watch on tv , but if premium seats are left I’ll buy those if the crew allotment of tickets is less than the sth i think there needs to be a plan so this never happens again have other fan bases complained in past years about this ?
Yes, I'm still complaining about the 2020 allocation process. I was a season ticket holder and they accidentally opened sales to the public the night before my window was to open. Then honored those sales. Grrr.
A lottery--like the Reds use for Opening Day, would have helped. Perhaps seniority. Some of us kept the league alive back in the day....
It's not my battle. I'm more than happy to watch the match with friends in NY who are excited for me that my club is in the final. But it seems odd to just casually tell people who have already invested so much time and money in this team, who have held onto season tickets even as prices went up dramatically in the new stadium to have the opportunity to be in the stadium for a moment like Saturday, to spend another several hundred dollars in fees to get a ticket off the secondary market when they already feel pretty screwed over.
Pearl Jam tried in the early 90s. Their whole beef was that they'd charge $20 for a ticket, but the fees were jacking prices up to "unaffordable for the fans." They even did a tour using non-TM venues and some stages they constructed on their own. Unfortunately, they were back to TM a few years later.
There were definitely other options than the method they chose, but do any of us think MLS cares one iota, as long as the tickets get sold?
How about this: Sponsors get their share funneled directly to them. Home supporters get their usual supporter section. Home team fans (non-supporter) get a presale of "usual seats or as close as we can get." Any left over for general public. Obviously save X% for away fans.
But, that was between the clubs--like if we tried to use the LA codes for their tickets. This was a sponsor leak. I expect nothing will be done.
I paid 237 in fees, after getting 2 tickets for 240 each. Prices will probably go down by friday, but for myself if I didnt buy them when I saw them at 240 I would probably talk myself out of it later. Unfortunately I only got 2 tickets so my kids and wife need to compete for the other golden ticket.
Does anyone remember issues like this in 2015? I went to the game and was able to buy a few tickets without much issue. Portland obviously had a sizeable allotment (the entire south end) and they had a quite a few fans scattered elsewhere who bought on the secondary market, but other than that it seemed to be normal Crew fans filling the stands. From what I could tell there didn’t seem to be a huge number of “sponsor” tickets, but maybe most of those got re-sold to Crew fans so nobody in the stadium noticed.
Well there are tickets left because I just bought my two but they weren’t cheap. Idk what section L9 and a few other L sections are but they were like 1,000. I bought player box tickets which were also 1,000+ YOLO! unfortunately only way i get my kids in is threw secondary market and 6/8 want to go. My wife is crying but I can make that money back easily but opportunities like this don’t come often and tomorrow isn’t promised. I just hope I’m still alive Saturday to witness us win the Cup !
This is what ledge seats usually get ya: That all you can drink/eat may be worth $500 per ticket alone.
I didn’t get the luxury seats i figured they were in the box , i got player box seats it’s field level the food and drink is not free in player box I’ll assume. I’ve never sat there before
