If tickets are floating around StubHub, the prices will drop the longer they go unpurchased. I would venture to say most STHs freaking out about not getting tickets through the pre-established sales process will still be able to obtain resale tickets through StubHub at a similar price. I'm not sure how many LAFC fans are going to make the trip aside from the ones who already got tickets through their allotment, so these resale tickets should be readily available for Crew fans.
Nordecke.com appears to be back up but now it says the waiting room is full, lmao wtf I waited in line for over an hour until the site crashed, now it's back up and I'm locked out? This couldn't be more of a disaster
I was told at 11 am that the sponsor code was very findable on social media. I ignored it, thinking it was a scam or a lie. Someone I trust ... who was not a season ticket holder ... used the same code and got tickets while I was still in the 1 pm queue. I tested 23Sponsor (what my buddy used) and shared it here. I don't know how it initially leaked. But, it was out there this morning.
Reminder that this is a lottery and you can enter for 24 hours starting at 4pm. You don't need to be on the Nordecke site right at 4. Crowd Control is enabled so you may be placed in a queue to access the site. Please be patient or try later this evening or tomorrow. https://t.co/qCDBiW8VYt— The Nordecke ⭐⭐⭐ (@Nordecke) December 4, 2023
I don't think it is confirmed that it was leaked by a sponsor, per se. It is just as likely that someone was trying random codes and guessed it and then shared on social media. I mean, when there isn't a unique code per sponsor with a restriction on the amount of tickets (unlike season ticket holders) and the code is something as mindblowingly simple as 23sponsor, it would be easy for a random person to have guessed it. This entire thing is just so MLS.
I’m hearing the horror stories. I’m in that 5p queue, might just open it to see what happens. I wonder that Dong screwed with us, again.
My friend saw that there additional seats on SeatGeek for basically the same price we paid. She bought 4...with an additional 100 in fees. That's $375 per ticket for section 237. Yikes. Tickets ended up being about 10 seats down from our initial block of 4. Hoping we can get 10 people to move 4 seats towards the middle so we can sit together. Hoping those of you locked out find tickets in the next 20 hours. Keep trying.
We all got unique codes. The sponsor got a typical ticketmaster code with the ability to pick any seat outside of the upper south except 209. LAFC gets the rest of the upper south, see image. We get unique codes with no limits to what section can be bought or whatever. You could still give out a blanket sponsor code but limited the tickets available to like 10 in each section. The USSF do that all the time. It's ridiculous.
This is exactly what I was getting at a few comments back. If people got the sponsor code and gobbled up a ton of tickets to resell, that means tickets are still available for Crew fans. If you want to go badly enough, my guess is you'll end up with tickets one way or the other. All the people on Twitter and Reddit I'm seeing freaking out and claiming they are done being fans need to chill.
Perhaps I have no intention of giving those kinds of people any of my money. Unless they lose money by selling them.
People can overreact however they like. I don’t like to support scalpers, so I won’t be. As for the rest, it sounds like the league monkeyed around with a simple ticket process, and failed, dismally.
Then don't go to the game. It's the league's fault they ended up with the tickets, but if you want to take a moral stance as a result of the league screwing up, more power to you I suppose. Someone else will inevitably buy those tickets.
I'll note that this kind of thing is quite common in other areas of life where there is a demand. Ask coin collectors about the 2021 Morgan dollars, for example.... ...and then there are the Swifties....
Oh Lordy. I am still going to be a fan. I just will not be at LDC on Saturday due to not having tickets. First world problems, sure.
Me too. But I will think twice about MLS specific purchases in the future, like the All Star Game and Leagues Cup.
I did not have you in mind when making that statement. But I'm not exaggerating when I say that I've seen numerous people on Twitter saying they are done with the team and the league and whatnot. It's insane. You can still get tickets though. The whole reason for this drama is that people grabbed up a bunch of tickets and are reselling on StubHub. If you really want to go, I'm confident you'll be able to find tickets.
In this particular case, as much as I dislike the league leadership at times, my moral stance is not vs MLS--but against scalpers who got away with a loophole. Not scalpers in general--that's capitalism. But scalpers who gamed the system? Michigan.
Not questioning you but........sure they are. Same number of people threaten to move out of State A, B and C after every election.
so the 5:00 opening still has the same $800+ club seat options only. Guess I'll be waiting/hoping some LA allotment gets returned and opens up
