What’s the odds it’s posted the same day I give an update on the same situation…strange. So, from 5 female coaches in the men’s game down to 1 in a few short months.
I would assume that would be either Idaho or NAU…I can’t see Montana’s coach leaving, I thought he just got an extension. NAU and Idaho both have been to the NCAA’s recently…those are the only three schools that have had “success” in the last three years. I can’t see those coaches leaving, unless they are flirting with it to get a bump or an extension at their current school. I like Laramie, and Wyoming…but…IMHO Missoula is better than Laramie Flagstaff is better than Laramie Don’t know about Moscow…never been. All seem great if you are the outdoorsy type. But…some may think the Mountain West is a step up from the Big Sky…who knows…
I would say generally the mountain west is considered stronger than the big sky but having played teams in both there isn’t too much of a difference. Citowicki has done an immense job at Montana so it’s no wonder Wyoming came knocking but I apparently Laramie doesn’t have a Buffalo Wild Wings and that was a deal breaker for him.
Mountain West finished 13th in conference RPI rankings this year. Big Sky finished 28th. RPI is somewhat flawed but that's a big gap. Having said that if he did have the job offered he probably made the right decision. Much better chance to get the NCAA tournament recruiting to Montana in the Big Sky than Wyoming in the Mountain West. Sometimes conference does not matter as much as your team in the conference. Point is Montana's RPI was a lot higher than Wyoming's.
Who does not like B-Dubs…Let’s go Sports Bar!!! There is one in Cheyenne less than an hour away….That decision lacked vision.
Interesting if that happens- the last coach ended up at Akron so could be possible. With all the Wyoming gossip- why would a coach in Indiana want to move to that part of the country unless it’s an assistant? The weather there has got to be miserable and there can’t be a lot to do. Lastly, is there something going on at St John’s? I have heard there could be a changing of the guard that is completely voluntary.
1- what is special about living in Indiana? 2- Wyoming sounds great right about now with little to do 3- Being a college coach right now, you do t really have time to do a whole lot more. I don’t know of any rumors, just a weird argument to make there CW.
Wyoming doesn’t sound like a good place to live in comparison to Indiana where there is plenty to do, better weather, more recruiting locally. To each their own however Wyoming doesn’t sound like a great place to be.
Lindsay Eversmeyer is female head coach for men's program in Illinois. Is it Illinois Valley CC? She does a good job. Dunno if we didn't include because not NCAA, but then again ya'll included NAIA coaches name above. So figured I would mention her.
1. Really aggressive 2. Have you seen Winthrops results?? - bit of research of last few years is all you need
Kim Wyant is still at NYU, no? The first thing I did after reading your post was to see what time of day it was. I guess I can see someone expressing themselves like that at 8:30 on a Friday night. It doesn't make it right, though.
Women coaches as head coaches in the men's game: Kim Wyant - head men’s soccer coach at New York University (DIII - New York) since 2015. Natasha Ademakinwa - Director of Soccer at Shawnee State University (NAIA - Ohio) since 2023 after being women's HC since 2018. Lindsay Eversmeyer - head men’s soccer coach at Southwestern Illinois CC (NJCAA - Illinois) since 2022. Accidentally removed Kim previously, and added Lindsay.
I would rephrase it perhaps- Winthrop and College of Charleston coaches SHOULD be on the hot seat. Long serving coaches who are past their prime. Didn't Winthrop just win only 1 conference game for the 2nd year in a row? In one of the worst NCAA conferences but in a pretty good place to recruit?? I completely understand some level of loyalty does still exist in this business and frankly, I have some respect for that view. But I also know that recruits do not care what you did 10 years ago. and certainly the other coaches in your conference don't care either. ps - not high and not been called an idiot today.....yet!
Same here. I used to get drunk a few times a year but would never go and post on women's soccer boards, especially about colleges I just don't know anything about. Yeah, I'm fun, huh?
4 wins last season: VMI, Southern Wesleyan, South Carolina State & Gardner-Webb......okay, Winthrop isn't in trouble, they just stink.
USC-Upstate had a good year in that conference, no doubt.....but they outshot Winthrop 37-5.....WOW To be fair though, I don't know what Winthrop's funding is and what the level of overall support for the program is from the university. I DO know that Upstate was traditionally terrible until recently with.........a coaching change
was curious after you posted this, looking at their stats of some of their games. Even against UNCA who look like they’ve struggled in past 10 years until recent, outshot them 21-1. few people here may be right in, not hot due to the school not caring, but just an observation on my end due to stats like these
As someone who has a daughter in the program I can say he knows how to recruit but that is because he lies to people. He doesn’t come through with his promises. I know a lot of the kids don’t trust him because he lies to them. I would disagree on being a good person but agree that he is a very bad coach.
Unfortunately you have some coaches that way and twist some words. But back to a point mentioned, how are these programs everyone wants to get coaches fired funding? The perspective should be, if they’re the least funded program in the conference, then expect the least point.
