He's just a more complete right back and I'm glad CQ finally noticed... Though heart broken for Santi.

Still needs to learn how to cross though.

Medina is better at that but he has to cut in and use his left foot most of the time.

Last years against chile stefan was one of the main problems of colombia.....chile attacked easy by his side...and knew to press him beacuse his only skill was the pass

If queiroz repeat the same mistakes of that match will talk about the evolution of the team

Hopefully Medina has grown since that moment and the team as a whole picks up any slack.

That Chile match should be taken with a grain of salt though. Muriel did not even play in that game and Falcao started most of the game.
This team is way different with Muriel and Duvan on the field with confidence.

My concern about Medina is that he gets overwhelmed at times. It happened against Qatar and Chile during CA19

Hopefully - like you said he has grown and knowing there is no near term replacement, the RB role is his to lose until Muñoz or someone else rises through the ranks over the next 12 months

It's all temperament in these kinds of games. I don't know if it happens to him at club level but we've seen it with him repeatedly for the NT. That and he has a tendency to give away cheap corners (Amaranto had that habit too).

Crossing fingers he can do this.

Luckily, Medina plays on the right with Cuadrado and James. He will have enough support to get out of the pressure

That’s what I fear. I specifically remember cuadrado playing basically as a 2nd RB against Qatar and Chile which prevented him from playing any offense.

Well, all-in-all CONMEBOL did a good job with protocols and we got the first set of matches in when it seemed dubious just weeks ago.

Hopefully things get better and we can get some fans in the stands soon.

I heard Barranquilla is petitioning for about 5K or so next month but it may have to wait until March.

I continue to pray that things get better everywhere.

    November speculation now:

Who will be our RB if Medina cannot recover in time ? I do not want to see Cuadrado but he is an option. Munoz should be called up if he is playing well in Belgium. I would not mind Orejuela being given another chance either.

What do we do with the over abundance of DFMs and CMs? Uribe, Yairo, Lerma, Barrios, Cantillo, Campuzano boy oh boy.

Maybe Uribe can play RB but not confident in that. Lerma has played RB for Pekerman but why mess with a good thing with his form at CM.

Will he call up Tesillo again in a horrible twist and try him at RB?

Will Roger be called back in? Will Villa's legal problems be resolved?
    I am optimistic about Diaz.

Will he call up Cucho or JuanFer or Cardona and make me smile the biggest smile in years?

Tune in Next month to get all these answers and more.

It could be his time to shine.
At home against an Uruguay team that could have problems with the way he attacks.
But if he is nervous and makes a mistake it could be a Medina type of debut with everyone ripping on him.

I’m a big Uribe fan but Lerma played with a passion/fire that I found inspiring.

Personally, I would like to see Lerma-Cuadrado-Barrios again with Muñoz as RB if Medina is not fit/ready.

Can yairo play RB? He plays LB for Leon, right?

I don't think so but it would not surprise me if he could. Just would not be as good as Munoz I imagine or even Orejuela.

Munoz isn't playing RB at all for Genk, but he's ready to play. Even if Medina is healthy, he'll need a full time backup. Can't force Cuadrado or Lerma to have to shift mid-game like that again.

If Medina isn't healthy, I say we call and start Edwin Herrera. He's the future, and I'm positive he's won the position in Portugal. I would hope playing in Portugal would convince Quieroz...

That's an interesting question. Has he been getting minutes at Famalicao?

Why do I get the feeling CQ will put Davison out there to play RB. He's done it before at Tottenham. Didn't look that good but he played out there a game or two.
