Welp, I'm satisfied. Ghana looses, but Portugal doesn't win on a Ronaldo dive. As annoying a Joao Felix is, he's an incredibly talented player.
Right?!?!? Aly Wagner (?) was just like "the timing looks good" and, uh, no it didn't? Really surprised we didn't get a VAR review on that.
Second was on-side. Third would have been ruled offside had it been the other way around, let's be honest.
I get dropping and exaggerating a bit, to get the referee's attention and stop the guys on the other team trying to break you. But covering your face and rolling around is way too much. It makes one ashamed to like this sport.
Some of the best refereee have been from less common countries. Uzbekistan, Egypt, etc. Why discriminate?
You need experience at a certain level to impose yourself on the field, as a referee. PS: I don't consider MLS a Top 20 league.
holy cow, if he hadn't slipped that would've be an AMAZING ending to a weird game... wild final 20 seconds lol
I don't think that was a Pen. I thought the same thing, but on the replay it looked like it was a clean tackle from behind
Ending in total despair. Really good game, but it makes me feel like the coliseum people in that "are you entertained?" speech by the Spaniard, after he murders the noobs.
As a referee this opinion makes me shake my head. Sorry. Just like how every player dreams of playing in a WC no matter how remote the possibility, so should there be no barrier for a referee. Why deny them this opportunity if they're good enough?
