We know we will be getting Apple money next year, we know Chofis is out the door, we know we need better players, we know we need a boost in the standings...

    Nah, we won't sign anyone.

Seems unlikely. Kind of like when we lost Nathan at the start of the season and the Quakes stood pat, probably unlikely Leitch does anything now. It’s remarkable how little effort we’re seeing from Leitch to even pretend to be trying, this year. I seriously thought he would want to make a better impression.

I'm sure he's focused on finding a new coach as that's where the rumors are all pointing to. Where there's smoke there's fire. Although, yeah, everything moves at glacier pace.

Instead of dumping MA and Chofis in the off season and hiring a new head coach and DP signing to start the season off right we take an entire season just to sort it out.

Hopefully we have everything ready to go for a great start to the '23 season - that's all I'm expecting at this point. Maybe we sign a defender this summer, but I'm not even sure we will do anything.

Inventory of available players a lot more now compared to when Nathan was injured, so I can understand not making a move then. However, they better be bringing in a player or two now !

Or else we get countless Quakes05 posts about Leitch failing at his job, countered by Jazzy defending Leitch's performance to the death, and then punctuated by bsman commenting about the back forth between the two of them, and lightly sprinkled with "#fivehourtailgate!" :D

Right and nobody wants that so come on Chris Leitch! Show us you haven’t quit on 2022, the fans and the team! Nobody is expecting a Gareth Bale type deal but a DP to replace Chofis and some defensive help please.

Konyaspor signed a 2+1-year deal with left-back Francisco Calvo, who played in the USA team San Jose Earthquakes.

✈️ The Costa Rican player will come to Turkey during the week to join the team. (

so, we've seen the last of Calvo & Chofis? And no word from camp Quakes on any plans to do anything whatsoever to strengthen the roster as the summer transfer window opens?

we've been through some lows with this team but 2022 might take the cake.

Wait, I thought the narrative was that Calvo sucked?

    “The food here is awful.”
    “And such small portions.”

Calvo was a mixed bag. But, he was our only defensive signing over the entirety of the last offseason, which was baffling given our defensive woes for years, our GM was a defender when he joined the team in '09, etc.

But Calvo and Nathan have been our best CB pairing this year. Losing Calvo further weakens an already depleted backline...and the lack of any word on any of this from the Quakes FO just leaves one to wonder if they were all part of the great resignation.

Calvo was a single-season signing, and the season is circling the drain (so, I'm told). Let him pursue his next gig.

sounds like he's pursuing his next gig regardless...but leaving halfway through a single season commitment? what does that tell you about the state of affairs over at perpetually-circling-the-drain Quakes HQ?

"Circling the drain" isn't sufficiently descriptive? :)

Signed a guy released by another MLS team, get a transfer fee six months later. Let's see how much it is.

Maybe we can pretend we're in Australia and the circle is going the other direction.

I’m not panicking quite yet, but every day that goes by without any substantive announcement feels a bit like a needle in the heart…

I wonder if there is any other MLS team that cares so little for and informs its fans so poorly. It’s almost like the fans are an afterthought at best…

Stop caring so much, I did and now i don't have to eat my heart out every time the Quakes disappoint me. :D

Besides, I want that Wooden Spoon! It'll be the only trophy we win with Fisher as the owner.;)

I've been one of the biggest critics of Calvo, but getting a transfer fee for a guy we signed for free is good business. Not sure Leitch was playing 4D chess all along, but gotta give credit regardless.
