Some of the limitations of a couple players really showed in that second half. Have to do better technically to break down an opponent down a man who is playing to prevent counters.
What's disappointing is the lack of chances created during the entire game. That's the bigger concern. With each game that Uhre is not available it's more and more obvious that Burke and Santos are not the answers to questions up top. Burke has not created much of anything in weeks. It still amazes me at just how efficient the Union's opponents are at converting the 1 oe 2 half to good chances the Union concede a game. The Red Bulls tying goal was well taken, and there just aren't that many players in the league that can/will score a goal like that. On the brightside, hopefully this is the Union's yearly slump that usually comes in July/August.
My thinking on Burke for multiple years at this point is that, while a threat in the air, he does not possess the technical ability required to be a big contributor in modern MLS. It seems rather elementary to state, but you need forwards who can combine with teammates without giving away possession.
Burke's touch has been pretty horrendous this year. However, for the life of me, I can't understand why Flach is in a game where you need a goal. He offers absolutely nothing on the offensive attack. There's no validation that he should be the everyday starter at LM. Very discouraging to let 2 points slip away this past weekend. Tomorrow night is pretty much a must-win.
