None of the playoff games on CBSSN ranked in the top 150 programs on cable the last two weeks. Why would anyone write articles about something that, outside of a giant gain in viewers last year, doesn't draw eyes to TV?
I watched them. I like the women's game as much and maybe in many instances more than the men's game. I want news, info, scoops, etc. Invested fans of the women's game often have to lurk twitters all over the place just to get a simple scoop that would have been easily found and reported by someone covering a men's game. There are plenty of soccer reporters/writers in this country who report on the women's game who IMO are not doing enough reporting, digging, interviewing this week for what should be the biggest game of the year in women's soccer. Maybe it's just me. My team that I have been a Season Ticket Holder since the day it was formed some 12-13 years ago is in the Championship game and I want to know what's going on every day, stories, scoops all the way to the start whistle.
So, if you complain there is not enough discussion, let's discuss: what do your think your team's chances are, this time around? Hey, try to be objective, not a fan!
LOL, I didn't think they would win last week and if Pugh, Watt and Short are out to add on top of Ertz and Naeher, than not good. BUT, Red Stars have a very good defense and a midfield that is experienced and has jelled together over the season. So I'm hopeful.
I'm rooting for the Spirit only because that roster is made up of a lot of UCLA players, Stanford and other PAC-12 people. Other than that, I'm just glad it's not the usual teams in the final.
Yeah, the fact the neither team has won a trophy before is amazing IMO. My preference order among playoff teams was: 1. Spirit 2. Red Stars 3. Dash 4. Gotham 5. Reign 6. Thorns (Yes there is an intentional swap in there) I think the only way I would've been okay seeing anyone aside from my top three in the final is if the Spirit beat Portland so as to definitely prove they would've gotten the Shield too (i.e. they would've beaten the two teams they forfeited to).
Ticket sales continuing to climb: Hello! 👀 Join us Saturday at Lynn Family Stadium: https://t.co/wE1kH3euyJ pic.twitter.com/Gmc0kPO9QK— Racing Louisville FC (@RacingLouFC) November 18, 2021 Official capacity is 11,700, with a safe standing area giving up to ~15.3k. I wonder how much of the standing room they opt to sell!
Thought the 15k one is for future expansion capacity. That the 11700 is current including standing area.
Nope. Future expansion would be up to 20k. 11.7k is seating only, with the 15.3k including the standing area. Not too hard to just check the team's actual stadium page. https://www.loucity.com/lynnfamilystadium
Ah ok. Was reading the wiki. That got me confused. Lynn Family Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium in the Butchertown neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It has hosted Louisville City FC of the USL Championship (USLC) since it opened in 2020 and Racing Louisville FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) since 2021. The venue has 11,700 permanent seats, with expansion for up to 15,304 spectators, and began construction in 2018
"Expansion" isn't the best word for the lede, since it's ambiguous. The lede is correct with the 11.7k "permanent seats", but we know the stadium also has standing room, so 11.7k is not the venue's actual capacity. Also, just scroll a tad bit down the Wiki to the "Design" header and it's more clearly stated (or check the infobox). The "expansion" in the lede (and "expandable" in the infobox) refer to current expanded capacity, not future expansion construction.

I'll admit I was lazy too and I hadn't opened the link *provided*. So, I had thought of some strange kind of VAR implementation, don't know, Robot Assistant Referee, or something.
As a Red Stars fan, the Gorden/Rodman match-up makes me nervous. Rodman has figured out how to cruise in Gorden's blindspot, just off of, and behind, Gorden's left shoulder. Both of Rodman's goals against the Red Stars came about this way and they were carbon copies of one another.
