A while back MLS made the rule that on transfer fees received X amount (depending on the classification of the player) could be converted into GAM and the rest had to be reinvested into the club in some way. I see the GAM conversion in the current roster rules, does anyone know if the rule about reinvesting the rest is still in place?
Obviously that Abila to DC move never happened, as Minnesota is now gonna put him on waivers. Not sure where he'd fit in on a DC roster that's short on international roster spots or on that $1.1M salary, either.
The Mitriță loan saga appears to have ended. According to @NYCFC_1 , Al Ahli plans to terminate (or they already have terminated )his contract because they want a different CAM and Mitriță takes up an international spot. If this is true, he'll return to #NYCFC . #MLS #VamosNYC pic.twitter.com/yRGwtQjypW— Boys In Blue Express (@BoysnBlueXpress) August 1, 2021
And, I was wrong, as Abila does go to DC United on waivers. D.C. United bolsters attacking depth with waiver signing of Ramón Ábila. Details: https://t.co/iGI3KRV1oy #dcu #mls— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) August 11, 2021
Crew are said to be signing French right back Steven Moreira on a free transfer. He formerly played for Toulouse.
Rumor that Caden Clark may start next season at RBNY until he recovers his pre-appendectomy form. Heard it on the radio, no written source.

He has not looked like the same player. He’s also very young and those dudes tend to be inconsistent and the whole team isn’t playing well so who knows.
🚨 Ricardo Pepi has approached the FC Dallas Front Office to request a transfer away from the club, @90min_Football are told 🇺🇲 #USMNT #DTIDHave reached out to the player's representatives for further confirmation.Full report 👇https://t.co/61RmFHwRxN— Chris Smith (@Chris_SXI) October 18, 2021 🚨 I can confirm that Ricardo Pepi has requested a transfer from FC Dallas and that he has agreed to personal terms with Wolfsburg. First reported by @CJSmith91. Far from done. So many clubs interested and involved.— Roger Gonzalez (@RGonzalezCBS) October 18, 2021
Does Pepi's agreement with Wolfsburg prevent him from agreeing to terms with other clubs? In other words, is this simply Wolfsburg meeting Pepi's demands or does this bind him in some way? He's not within 6 months of his Dallas contract ending so I don't think he can sign a deal with a new club. So I'd think Dallas can ask Wolfsburg to meet the best offer from another club.
Doesn't bind him or FCD at all. He still has a contract so someone has to meet what FCD values his buyout at. If FCD and Wolfsburg agree to a fee then the deal can go through. If they don't but someone else does then Pepi can go there if he agrees to personal terms with that other team.
