That's bad defending on the set piece and bad goalkeeping on that and a very bad showing by the fans yet the acting was not necessary to sell it hitting his face.
Yeah, because holding this in a neutral venue would look good on TV...... The stadium atmosphere today is better than anything MLS could hope for. Would you rather the game was played in Yankee Stadium with a pitcher's mound and shitty camera angles? I would have rather they the game was in Chester, PA between Philly and RSL but I digress....
1) I don't think that hit him in the head. 2) That is a hell of a throw. 3) Find the culprit and throw his ass in a cell.
It looks fine; for one thing, it’s 20 degrees warmer and not raining. (Also, football looks better in bad weather than soccer does.)
If this game was played in NY or Philly....they wouldn't allow cans/bottles in the seats...everything would be in a cup
I'm not sure Clark could have done much more on the goal. He was hung out to dry by terrible marking. On replay, it looks like the beer can hit Medina in the chest and not in the face. (It's quite likely that beer splashed into his eye.) Still, the fan who threw it should get a stadium ban at the very minimum, and should probably be charged with assault and battery.
I briefly tuned into the Army-Navy game. Not really a fan of the uniforms both sides are wearing today. If it weren't for the score graphics, I'd think I was watching an FCS battle between Colgate and Villanova.
I’d rather they played in, say, the Rose Bowl in front of 50K+…which they actually did a quarter-century ago.
So do the Timbers get punished for that? Next home game behind closed doors? Next home playoff game behind closed doors? Or just a fine?
Pretty sure this is the first set piece goal Portland have conceded since that 6-2 loss to Seattle.pic.twitter.com/nntOBTkkjS— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) December 11, 2021
