Big game against Rangers in 8 hours, let's hope Kyogo can score. Reo still injured, won't be surprised if maeda is on the bench

    Iwata...let's just not go there

We do need to go there. Rodgers needs to. Or Rangers will overrun our midfield. It's a decision that will decide Rodgers' fate at Celtic.

Iwata not even on the bench. The guy that got played is invisible. But Kyogo will replace the Christian God in the hearts of Celtic fans. At a dark time, he stepped up to make the difference.

Is he injured or something? Iwata and Kobayashi need to look for another club or go out on loan as they are not getting a run under Rodgers.

Good game from Kyogo, had an injury scare with his shoulder again in the first half but thankfully was ok. Daizen Maeda named BBC man of the match, had a great game and scored a wonderful goal that was ruled offside by a fraction.

Hatate returned from injury to a huge applause as he came off the bench in the second half and made an immediate impact.

All eyes now on the champions league on Tuesday against Feyenoord.

Hopefully Ueda can also play. Cause some sources say he is ready other sources mean maybe his little injury against Germany needs longer.

3 - 3 hattrick for Kyogo and Ueda just to make some spice on october Moriyasu's calls.

Kyogo can do everything, he's great with his head, he can finish with both feet, his movement is world class, he should be the no.1 striker for Japan in my opinion, quite easily. He will no doubt end his career as a Celtic legend, the fans adore him.

I really hope he scores some goals in the champions league so that Moriyasu has no choice but to play him.

Scoring in CL is the last step for him. He need it. Last year he failed.

Not many chances for Kyogo in the first half, not a great half for Hatate but Maeda has been good, unfortunately they lost a goal before the break to a free kick which could have been saved, some people blaming Kyogo for turning away in the wall but why he was put in the wall I have no idea. Second half coming up.

Kyogo is on another level. He didn't have 1 clear ball to score. His team mates, Hatate too, were awful, this is simply not their competition. Maybe in Europa League in 2024.

Rodgers is playing a terrible football. He changed Celtic to the bad. Last season they have tons of chances to score. Today I would say only 1 of Hatate, 1 of Maeda thats all.

Feyenoord could have been up to 4-0.
If this is the level it will be even worse than last year.

Idealists fail when faced with real life conditions. Rodgers is unwilling to adapt. At least reality forced him to play Iwata a bit.

Next match vs Lazio at home is just a win or die thing.
At least I hope Kyogo will score no matter what.
Yeah they will play w/o a starter CB and w/o thr sub for Hatate but is not so dreadful like play w/o Kyogo or Maeda.
Let's hope this UCL for Celtic does not end just before happen.

This was an awful night for Celtic, they were doing ok for 45 minutes then fell apart and had two players sent off.

Kyogo, had nothing all game, should have been put in by Hatate for a goal but for some reason he chose to shoot instead of passing

Hatate - one of his worst games, I'm not sure if it was fitness or what, but he didn't seem up for this, lots of mistakes and misplaced passes, choosing the wrong option etc, disappointing

Maeda - Mr consistent and one of Celtics best players last night, full of energy and directness, had a great run and shot that was saved

Iwata - well it took Celtic going down to 9 men for Iwata to finally make an appearance this season, at center back, but he played pretty well when he came on, which had a lot of fans questioning why he hasn't been given a chance

Home Vs Lazio next, I expect a big improvement

Rodgers very recently said he's no fantasist and that he believes tactics need to be adjusted against stronger teams. I welcome these words and eagerly await their application in practice.

    This means:
    - drop the D-line to accommodate slow CB-s
    - drop the press to a mid-block at most, and reserve the energy for short instances of frantic pressing to shock the opposition at times
    - drop the idea of playing out of the back, instead, have players target Kyogo, Daizen and (ideally) Yang with long passes

It would resemble Moriyasu's tactics, but that's because they work. I'm confident Moriyasu would lead this Celtic squad into the CL knockout rounds.

Hatate played well, Iwata had to come on and help stabilize things, and impressed. Maeda put his typical defensive performance on display, and scored an injury time goal just as I got back from the lunch table. Kyogo set up the second goal (although Maeda got the lucky assist), and played really well as a right winger. So well in fact that he might go there in Champions League.

Yeh seemed like he also tried to defend against the Kyogo cross. It just needed a tap in but he managed to stop it dead. Good goal in the end, though..
