Davies was a phenom at Vancouver and was named in The Guardian's top 60 best young talents in the world in 2017 alongside the likes of Sancho, Hudson-Odoi and Tim Weah (and Andrew Carleton!). Even so the Whitecaps only valued him at $2 million that summer. Aaronson is not the player Davies was at Vancouver and he's not gone to a club with the resources of Bayern.
Interesting clause in the Kei Kamara trade: News: #MNUFC forward Kei Kamara is not available to play Colorado on Wednesday due to a "gentleman's agreement" in the trade with Rapids this summer, Adrian Heath said Tuesday.— Andy Greder (@andygreder) October 27, 2020
Here is some data to look at. For this season Aaronson's base fee would be the 19th highest summer transfer in the German Bundesliga. Last year he would have been 47th and 32nd in 18/19. In France he'd be 25th this year and 38th last year. In Italy he'd be 43rd this year but 60th last year. Italy's average buy price fell 500k this year compared to last year. Bundesliga dropped from 3.3 million average per player last summer to 1.5 million this summer. France dropped 700k year over year. Prices just aren't what they were last year.
In case people haven't seen this. Whoa..............!!! Juventus coming in strong for Bryan Reynolds https://t.co/uyFlW8dKLt#FCDallas #DTID #SomosFCD Source: $6-7 Million bid expected this week.— 3rd Degree (@3rdDegreeNet) November 25, 2020
Crazy about Bryan Reynolds. Really makes me think Busio, McKenzie (most interested in this one) will have big offers on the table. Not to mention a handful of Vines, Bassett, Bello, Dike, Cowell could have interest too...would have to think Morris would have serious interest overseas if the Sounders win another championship, would love to see it happen but he seems happy to stay in Seattle...what kind of fee would it take to let him leave? 10m?
And that’s the problem from what I understand. The Sounders view Morris as one of the best FW/MF in the league and they expect offers for him to represent that. The problem is, they aren’t getting that. I can’t remember which team it was, but the Sounders reportedly got an offer from a Championship club, but turned it down because it was only a few million dollars.
They ought to pay him that way - restructuring the contract long since. He isn't in the top 100 paid players as far as I know.
Morris was on $619,600.00 guaranteed compensation in 2019. Zardes was on $1,471,666.64. Altidore was on $6,332,250.04.
News: #MNUFC interested in signing defensive midfielder Wil Trapp, a source told @PioneerPress. Heard still a lot of work to do on deal. But Trapp, 27, is a #USMNT player and was with Inter Miami in 2020 after seven years with Columbus.(@TheAthleticSCCR had connection first)— Andy Greder (@andygreder) December 9, 2020
Replacement for Alonso presumably, who has just turned 35. Then Alonso to Austin in the expansion draft.
