Recently Napoli were judged to have forfeited against Juve. The local government in Napoli wouldn't let the team leave town. I agree that if the game can't be rescheduled -- and Colorado's cannot -- those missed games should be considered a forfeit -- but MLS.

For anyone who has listend to the "Total Soccer Show" podcast in the past, Taylor Rockwell posted today that his co-host Daryl Grove is now in hospice care due to advanced colon cancer. Incredibly sad news, Grove is in his mid-30's. Keep a good thought for him tonight.

To be honest, Napoli had canceled the charter flight to Turin before getting the official note from the AUSL (the local health authority), which coincidentially is also what Napoli president De Laurentiis wanted (not to go to Turin), that's why they got sanctioned with the 0-3 loss. FIGC (the Italian soccer body) has a protocol in place, if you start making exceptions, it's never going to end... But anyway, the lost game decision has been appealed against, and will be appealed over and over by whoever gets penalized. It's going to take a couple of months before knowing for sure what the final verdict is going to be. I wouldn't exclude the game will have eventually to get played. It's a shame Napoli did not travel because the way they are playing now and the way Juve is playing now, they would have had a good shot at winning the game.

Other teams include Nashville, Kansas City, Atlanta, RSL, and Philadelphia.

Apparently Hartford is making plans so that Toronto can have fans in attendance for their final "home" game of the season.

I think I need some help understanding this...

    - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th seeds in each conference host Round 1 playoff matches
    OK

    - Seeds 7-10 in the Eastern Conference will each compete in a play-in match:
    • No. 7 seed vs. No. 10 seed
    • No. 8 seed vs. No. 9 seed
    • Lowest seed play-in winner advances to face No. 1 seed in East
    • Highest seed play-in winner advances to face No. 2 seed in East What happens to teams 5-6?? Also, in the west only 4 teams will go to playoffs?? What happens to the other 8?

    It's pretty straight forward.

8 teams from the West make it.

10 from the East make it.

7 plays 10 and 8 plays 9 in the East as play in games to get down to 8 teams. The East has more playoff teams since it has more teams overall this year.

Then, in the West, 1 plays 8, 2 plays 7 and so on.

    In the East, 1 plays either the 8, 9, or 10 seed. 2 plays either the 7, 8, or 9 seed. 3 plays 6 and 4 plays 5.

If 1-4 out West all host playoff matches, there can't be just 4 playoff teams in the West....

Watched the USMNT v. Wales today. That is the most talented group to take the field since 2002. There were some errors of youth and they wore down as the game went on, but they held possession against Wales and largely dominated the run of play. What was glaringly absent was a real striker given that none of Sargent, Altidore or Zardes was available. Lleget is a fine player, but he's not a #9. For the first time in a long time, I'm optimistic about the program.

I completely agree, I watched the game too, and for the first time after an embarassing couple of years, it looks like there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel. There were a couple of guys I have no idea who they are (Johnny??? Who is he?) but it looked like there was a lot of talent out there. And let's not forget Pulisic was not there either. I hope the US are on a new path the same way it is for Italy's NT.

It would be a nice story, he's from Manassas. Played some in the DCU academy. Went to JMU.
15 goals in 43 games for the Fire, that's not bad, and the best scoring rate of his career. He'll be 32 at the end of December.
If you can lose Kamara, you can potentially get a better player at a savings, so in that instance I think it would be a good move. They still would need a surefire starter ahead of him, imo.

Yes, I'd definitely take him over Kamara especially if you can pay him less. Is Kamara a DP?? I hope not.

Wayne Rooney appointed Derby County manager ad interim after the club fired Cocu. Derby County is dead last in the Championship standings.
