I've always jokingly said that I have such a cult following that they'd pay me for info. I wanted to put that to test without being an ass that pockets it myself lol
They indeed do blackouts in local markets. I happened to be in Colorado for their blizzard game last year (caught in that same blizzard) and couldn't watch because Altitude (Kroncke's network) has local rights. WGN for cable/OTA with ESPN+ holding streaming rights would be a best of both worlds situation, so I'd hope that's what they're going for. Does WGN have a streaming platform? They're not available on many of the Sling/Hulu/etc platforms that I know of, so dropping ESPN+ would be a big problem for me. However, ESPN+ is already on the team schedule after not being there when it was released so I'm guessing they're here this season. Philly fans were complaining last year that they weren't able to stream games anywhere. They were blacked out for ESPN+ and the local TV stations they partnered with didn't have a streaming platform. Let's hope it never comes to that.
They are, the national package is only out-of-market games. As an ESPN+ subscriber who watches normal TV through YouTube TV which does not carry WGN this would suck for me personally, but nonetheless it's surely a good idea for the team overall.
Not sure about the details. I was just told that we'll be on WGN this season. I didn't get the chance to triple check the info which is why I'm abstaining from saying it's 100% happening, but it will.
Hmm, if WGN isn't on ANY of the major streaming services, who disproportionately serve the MLS demographic, this might be troublesome.
CSN's Fire contract was a serious problem for me due to them not having streaming rights. I had Sling at the time and had to find a working VPN then hook my laptop up to an HDMI connection just to watch the Fire. Irritating as f-ck for a channel I was paying for.
That 2022 deal scares the crap out of me as a fan. It's either going to be really good or really really awful.
social media team doing a good job making it seem like the guys really like each other perhaps genuine or perhaps good marketing, but I'm buying into improved team chemistry this year, most importantly due improved regard for the coach
Team chemistry has been pretty good the last few years and I credit Dax and Basti's leadership for that. Things got a little tense around that June/July period where we dropped points to the Ohio clubs, but it got quickly sorted.
Not going to pretend that I have insight into our transfer targets. But I'm pretty happy with our ability to move onto Plan B quickly, when Plan A goes awry. No one likes it when things blow up, but building a track record of dealing with adversity well is an attribute that gets noticed by other clubs, agents and players.

I like that in the clipped tweet that you provided (which stops at Portland at No. 17 and the "top half" of San Jose at No. 18), the Chicago Fire are not even listed on the screen. I am Optimistic that we will actually make the screen when the next betting odds come out.
