MLS postpones next three Colorado Rapids league matches October 12, 2020 9:30PM EDT Simon Borg I don't see how they are going to make up all these games before the playoffs are scheduled to start. They already had 2 yet to be rescheduled, so this makes 5 total, not including one that has already been rescheduled to Nov 4th. The East has a play-in round that the West does not, so that will help a bit.
After an 18 month absence due to visa issues, returning for Revs game: Philadelphia Union's Cory Burke is finally back and may make season debut on Monday October 13, 2020 3:14PM EDT Tom Bogert
Somehow I missed this news last weekend: Federico Higuain traded from DC United, joins brother Gonzalo at Inter Miami CF October 10, 2020 4:58PM EDT Benjamin Baer

Supporters' Shield to be awarded in 2020 following reversal of decision October 23, 2020 1:01PM EDT MLSsoccer staff I can understand the thinking behind the original decision, but in the end I think this is the right call.
Trades, Allocation Order and more: What to watch for as transfer window closes Thursday posted: October 26, 2020 7:45PM EDT Tom Bogert Window closes Thursday 10/29. Cincy holds the #1 allocation slot.
MLS announces creation of AT&T Young Player of the Year Award for players 22 and under October 28, 2020 1:07PM EDT Bummer. Kessler was in the running for ROTY. He's 22, so he is still eligible, but I don't think he will beat out Brenden Aaronson or Diego Ross. Tajon Buchanan is the other Rev listed as a nominee.
Doesn't affect the East, where (barring any last minute cancellations), all the teams should complete the 23 game schedule. Not so in the West, especially Colorado, so they are going to PPG: MLS announces Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs qualification update October 29, 2020 4:34PM EDT
Galaxy give GBS the boot: MLS coaching carousel: Guillermo Barros Schelotto's dismissal is the fifth change of 2020 season October 29, 2020 7:27PM EDT Jonathan Sigal
I think this is a definite rob job on Kessler. MLS always doing it wrong - they could have said that this year there will be 2 awards - the traditional and this new one, and then next year they would be not be awarding a ROTY anymore. To change mid-season is so MLS.
I watched Orlando vs Columbus last night. Take heart Revs fans, the refs don't just suck in your games, they suck in other games also!! Nani was shown a red card on a play that I didn't think was even a foul. Yes, on slow-motion replay it shows that he caught the other player a little bit on his follow thru. The other player didn't even milk it demanding medical attention. In the first half, Nani got tackled by a way nastier challenge, where the defender wasn't even yellow carded. The MLS has got to improve/upgrade their officials.
Turns out it is possible to turn over a disappointing roster in the off season. FCC declines 12 contracts with 5 more under negotiation https://amp.cincinnati.com/amp/6219637002?__twitter_impression=true
As bad as the Revs offense has been this year, Cincy has been a whole other level: 12 goals and 6 assists in 23 games. Diego Rossi alone (14 goals) outscored the entire FCC team.
Philadelphia Union's Andre Blake named 2020 Allstate MLS Goalkeeper of the Year November 16, 2020 12:00PM EST MLSsoccer staff Matt Turner finished second (tied for 3rd in the players vote).
Ugh. Yet another failed MLS rebrand. I weep for the design industry. Houston Dynamo FC: A new vision and brand identity for Houston's MLS, NWSL clubs November 17, 2020 12:00PM EST MLSsoccer staff At least the Revs crayon flag moves up the list with each fail.
I guess I'm the only one that doesn't hate it? It's far from perfect, but it's a definite step in the right direction. Clubs/brands take a long time to develop and I feel that this is progress for Houston and their brand identity. In related news, The Athletic is reporting that Chicago are working to correct their recent rebrand and will likely have a new badge in place for the 2022 season.
Nashville destroyed the Miami Beckhams 3-0. Miami was at a severe disadvantage, missing several players, including 2 DPs, to a Covid outbreak. Nashville looked good, although second goal was a gift PK that was a total dive. Anytime a player throws his hands above his head as he falls, you know it's a dive.
Wild ending in Orlando that has to be seen to be believed. GK Pedro Gallese red carded (2nd yellow) in middle of PK shoot out for coming off the line too early. CB (Schlegel) has to take over in net, and makes a save that puts Orlando through to face the winner of PHI-NER.
That was the most farcical thing I have ever seen in a professional soccer game. The league might as well have pulled Three Blind Mice off the street to officiate that mess, they couldn't have done worse or made more mistakes. NFLPatriot is right - If you haven't seen it, you must. https://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/m...y-sc-vs-new-york-city-fc/details/video/249606
Immediately thought of Joe-Max putting on the gloves (admittedly in a shoot out, and a non-playoff game). I think they got all the rule interpretations right -- the rules in place don't make sense -- but the way the ref handled everything, just oozed of uncertainty. The rule to "forgive" one keeper infraction in PK's came into being for this year after the start of the MLS season. It's crazy to not allow a keeper for keeper substitution in this instance (makes the penalty for leaving the line early really severe -- imagine if it had been the first PK!).
