In case anyone missed it, huge news out of Atlanta as they lost Josef Martinez for the year with a ACL tear.
Victor Wanyama signed by Montreal Impact as Designated Player from Tottenham Hotspur March 3, 2020 5:33PM EST Jonathan Sigal
The most interesting part of the article - The Impact acquired Wanyama's discovery rights by trading $150,000 in General Allocation Money to the New England Revolution.
I don't think it is anything like that. I think we had just put him on our discovery list so Montreal had to pay us to sign him. We already have 3 DPs, so we can't bring in another without changing someone's status.
Hard to say, but we was obviously interested enough in coming to MLS and we held his discovery rights. I don't see how we could have made it work with, Bou, Gil, and Buksa though.
Goalkeeper William Yarbrough appears Colorado Rapids-bound as he thanks Leon fans March 4, 2020 5:13PM EST Ian Quillen
Buksa's salary is below the cap for being able to buy him down with TAM. As long as the new DP salary is larger than Buksa's, or the new "DP" had lower wages than Buksa and was bought down instead, we could add another DP level salary.

It hasn't been noted here (unless I missed it). MLS withdrew FCD from the tournament. And now Nashville's first game has been postponed.
I'm wondering if Dallas over-reacted. Maybe the problem was deeper than the number of players testing positive, in which case I guess they had little choice. But, I wonder if they just didn't feel like they could win with a diminished squad.
