That's pretty much how we ended the game last night. When Berry came in and was running around giving everyone the bench instructions, Fraser dropped very deep, very close.to being a 3rd cb and Nagbe pushed up farther then he's played in weeks.

This pushed our outside backs way up the field to the point that we actually were playing a high press defense. In the last 20 minutes NY barely got past.the halfway.

    Maybe Pprter is capable.of.change.

cummings went into a store to buy 17 pounds worth of goods. he forgot his wallet, but he took his pen and wrote four words down on an accounting ledger. i'm not gonna tell you what the words were, but they paid the bill and he got two vowels and a capital back.

Honestly, the thing that is unsettling about that picture is that it seems to be a get well card for Pedro Santos, who - because he's not there - might indicate that he's hospitalized with a head injury.

F*ck the Cheese Eater, Santos may be serious.

The tweet was sent by the ColumbusCrew and they “tagged” (the “@“) Pedro, so it’s unlikely he took the pic.

I agree with Bill; I’m concerned about Pedro.

Pedro and Francis are out. Lucas is questionable with a hip injury and so is Valenzuela with a hamstring.

With the way lucas was walking at the end of the last game, I do not expect him to start.

So I'm going to go out on a very short limb here and pray that I'm wrong but if you were forced at gunpoint to bet, you'd have to bet that we've seen the last of Eloy Room this year. And maybe much longer.

    Tragic.

And what an incredible, gutsy performance. I have not the words. The man played over ten minutes on one leg and in obviously severe pain.

    Legendary.

It was a Byron Leftwich-esque performance - minus the competent offense with the ability to complete the comeback

Alright, possibly the last uodate this year.

With Room out, Dick made the bench last week. So he cannot be on loan anymore.

Only small differences between what I have an MLS' site. I noticed they now have seperate sections for the supplementals, and internationals. They have Hairston as a Senior player and Bush as Supplemental. I have (had) the opposite, largely based on their salaries from the previous year. But the MLS take is quite possible as it was reported Bush's former club was paying much of his salary this year. I will comply with MLS on this.

I also put Molino on season ending injury, leaving us an open Senior spot.

Too lazy to incorporate new format yet.

    A. General Stuff:

    https://www.mlssoccer.com/about/roster-rules-and-regulations

    1. Salary Cap = $4,900,000

    A) On Budget: Only Senior Roster Spots count against the Cap
    B) 20 player max, subject to exceptions for Season Ending Injury, Injury List, and Loans.
    C) Up to 20 Senior Roster spots. 18 must be filled. Min budget charge is made if spots 19 & 20 are not filled.
    D) Max budget charge is $612,500. GAM/TAM Allocation $$ and DP rules can reduce a player's budget charge below their listed salary number.
    E) Off-Budget: Supplemental (21-24) and Reserve (25-30) Rosters do not count towards the salary cap.

    I. Estimated Roster Compositions
    1. Senior Roster: 19/18-20 Players:

    A) 20 Player max on Senior Roster, subject to Season Ending Injury List, Disabled List, and Loan exceptions.
    B) Generally, this is the highest 20 paid players, though HG players and GA players can be on other rosters.

Rank, Player, Pos, Age,DOB, HT, WT, Nat, Desig(s), Base $$/Guar $$
    1. Zelarayan, M, 29, 6/20/92, 5'8", 154, Argentina, DP, INT, $1,620,000/$1,985,000.
    2. Nagbe, CM, 31, 7/19/90, 5'9", 165, USA/Liberia, DP, $1,710,000.
    3. Zardes, F, 29, 9/2/91, 6'1", 187, USA, DP, $1,350,000/$1,400,000.
    4. Mensah, D, 31, 7/13/90, 6'2", 183, Ghana, GC: $1,000,000/$1,140,667
    5. Santos, M, 33, 4/22/88, 5'6", 139, Portugal, Int#2: $817,560/$864,560

    13. Diaz, M, 22, 12/6/98, 5'11", 159, Costa Rica, Int#7, YDP, $350,004/$383,904
    14. Afful, D, 35, 7/24/86, 5'6", 135, Ghana, GC, $335,000/$365,000
    15. Williams, D, 33, 4/18/88, 6'2", 185, USA: $300,000/$302,500
    16. Kitchen, DM, 29, 2/29/92, 6'0", 160, USA, $275,000/$301,667
    17. Francis, D, 30, 9/20/90, 5'9", 160, Costa Rica, GC, $220,000/$230,000
    18. Hurtado, F, 30, 11/15/90, 5'10", 180, USA, $218,182/$245,682 (VAN)
    19. Hairston, D/M, 27, 3/23/94, 6'0", 157, USA, $81,375.
    20. Open (Molino).

The listed salary for Hurtado is his Vancouver salary which they are covering for this year. IDK how much, perhaps enough for him to be Supplemental. MLS has him as Senior.
    -----------

    2. Supplemental Roster: Slots 21-24. 4 of 4 Players.

    A) Up to 4 players. Do not count vs. salary cap. Subject to SE Injury Replacement, Disabled List, and Loan exceptions.
    B) May include Senior Minimum Budget Players ($81,375), which mayi include HGs; Generation Adidas players (who may earn more and MUST be Supplemental Roster players during their GA contract), designated SuperDraft eligible players (?), and Homegrown Players earning more than Sen Min salary via HG subsidy. Must make at least $81,375.

Rank, Player, Pos, Age,DOB, HT, WT, Nat, Desig(s), Base $$/Guar $$

    21. Abdul-Salaam, D, 29, 9/8/91, 6'4", 185, USA, $125,000/$133,667 (Cincy sal)
    22. Bush, GK, 35, 3/6/86, 6'1", 185, USA, $376,000/$438,667 (Van salary).
    23. Berry, F, 23, 9/16/97, 6'3", 180, Spain/USA, $85,444.
    24. Dick, GK, 26, 10/3/94, 6'5", 205, USA, $85,444.

MLS has Bush as Supp despite his big salary from last year. Vancouver must be covering so much of his salary that he, like Hairston, is a Sen Min guy on our end. We picked Abdul-Salaam up on waivers, so his deal must be less that the reported Cincy number before he was cut.

Also, MLS now has Berry as a 21-24 guy where he was incorrectly 25-28 before.
    ---------------

    3. Supplemental Reserve Roster: 25-28. 4 of 4.

    A) Players must be either earning the Reserve Minimum Salary ($63,547) or be Homegrown Players earning more via the HG Subsidy.
    B) Reserve Min players must be 24 or younger during the League YEAR. As determined by Year of birth, not DOB. No age limit for HGs within salary limits.
    C) Senior Min Players ($81,375) & GA Players cannot occupy these spots unless they are a HG player in Sen Min via HG subsidy.
    D) HG players occupying these slots are not subject to the same age restrictions as Reserve Minimum players.

Rank, Player, Pos, Age, DOB, HT, WT, Nat, Desig(s), Base $$/Guar $$

    25. Etienne Jr, M, 24, 11/25/96, 5'10", 160, Haiti/USA, HG, $125,000.
    26. Fraser, CM, 23, 2/13/98, 6'1", 179, Canada, HG, $89,513/$94,513 (TFC HG), On loan.
    27. Keita, D, 21, 4/6/00, 6'2, 180, USA, HG, $110,000.
    28. Lillard, D, 25, 12/5/95, 6'4", 195, USA, HG, $125,000/$127,000 (Miami HG).

Etienne as a HG? Who knew?
    -----------------------------------------

    4. HomeGrown Reserve Roster (29-30). 1 of 2.

    A) Must be Homegrown Players.
    B) Same Budget rules as 25-28.
    C) HG player salary for Supplemental players is capped at +$125k above the Reserve or Senior Min salary (depending on which roster they are on).
    D) Teams can use $200k of TAM to sign NEW HG players.

Rank, Player, Pos, Age,DOB, HT, WT, Nat, Desig(s), Base $$/Guar $$
    29. Parente, M, 21, 3/16/00, 5'9", USA, HG, $???/$???.
    30. Open/Morris when healthy.
    ---------------

    5. Season Ending Injury: 2.

    1. Morris, M, 19, 11/16/01, 5'10", 158, USA, HG, $145,000/$147,000.
    2. Molino, M, 31, 6/17/90, 5'11", 145, Trinidad & Tobago, GC, $667,000.

    --------------------
    6. Designated Players: 3 of 3.

    Max Budget = $612,500. Secondary Window = $306,250. Young DP 21-21 = $200,000. 20 & under = $150k. Sec Window = $150k.

    Zelarayan, Nagbe, Zardes.

Santos & Mensah & Molino all make over DP amount ($612,500) but have been bought down with Garberbucks. My reading of the TAM buy down rules is that DP's making over $1,612,500 cannot be bought down (compensation ceiling for TAM use). I could be wrong on that. If correct, it means only Zardes could be "bought down" to free up a DP spot amongst our current three.
    ---------------------------

    7. Green Card Holders = 7
Mensah, Afful, Valenzuela, Francis, de Lima (Artur), Wright-Phillips, Molino.
    --------

    8. International Roster Spots: 7 of 7.

Zelarayan, Santos, Room, Diaz, Wormgoor, Matan, Moreira.

Traded 1 spot away for Garberbucks. MLS not listing Frenchie as an INT yet.
    ------------

    9. U-22 Signees (1 of 3). Matan.

    # of slots (3 max) based on how/if club uses 3rd DP slot. Unused = 3 slots. 3rd DP is Young DP = 3 slots. 3rd DP at or below TAM limit ($1,612,500) = 3 slots (this is us). 3rd DP above TAM limit = 1 U22 slot.

Player must be 22 or younger in first year signed (ineligible if turn 23 in 2021). Can continue to occupy U22 slot through age 25 season if on initial contract. HG can occupy U22 slot through 2nd contract, if signed at age 22 or younger. As can Superdraft players.

Must make less than Budget max ($612k). A HG or Superdraft player on 2nd contract can go max +$200k.

Players under 20 only count $150k vs the cap. Older players count $200k.

Must occupy a SR spot. Must remain on roster for 2 or 3 years, though there are mechanisms to renove (transfer, TAM), etc.
    ---------------

    10. Homegrown Players = 7.

Keita, Morris, Parente, Lillard, Berhalter (loaned out), Fraser (loaned to us), Etienne Jr.

Lillard was a HG for Miami. Apparently that still counts. Berhalter loaned out and likely not coming back. Etienne Jr was a HG for NYRB, apparently that still counts as well.
    -----------------------------------------------

    11. College Protected List.

For draft picks not signed with the league nor claimed on waivers placed on this list until the year after they were drafted (Dec 31 2022 for 2021 draftees). After which club loses priority access to sign them.

    1. Malou, D (CB/RB), 23, 6/1/98, 5'11", 175, Senegal.
    2. Jackson-Ketchup, D, ??, ??/??/??, 5'8", 145, USA.
    --------------------------------------------

    12. Season Long Loan (1)/Loaned out (1)

    1. Berhalter, CM, 19, 5/10/01, 5'9", 155, USA, HG, $85,000/$122,250.(Austin). Option to trade at end of season.
    --------------

Any comments and/or corrections welcome. As always. I think I got everything, but I usually screw at least one thing up in an update.
