The enthusiasm for this game...(fill in the blank). 3 votes so far in the poll. 10 months since the last home game. Just not the same.
I may have made a horrible mistake. To try to save some money, I switched from Fios TV to YouTube TV. It has fewer channels but seemed to have the ones I need to watch the Union and other soccer. But, it does not have PHL17. So far, the Union are streaming the games. But, if that stops I will be in trouble. I will have to go back to Fios or get an Antenna.
I remember reading (somewhere...) that they were planning on streaming all non-national games for the rest of the season. So you might be in luck. Edit: Haha, I read it on the Union's website's streaming FAQ: https://www.philadelphiaunion.com/stream/faq But you have to be "in Philadelphia or the immediate surrounding area."
I have YouTube TV as well, I think 2 games ago, it was streamed at 720p, last game it said 1080p. I don't understand why they can't upgrade the quality. I just bought a 65" 4K OLED and it might as well be a rear projection. Are any services broadcasting Union matches with a quality picture? I would probably switch services because I don't watch much TV beyond soccer matches.
No channels on broadcast TV in the United States are in 1080p. They are either 720p at 60fps or 1080i at 30 fps. They are still using the standards from like 15 years ago. WPHL is broadcast in 720p. So while your TV may say it's in 1080p, it isn't. It may be upconverted using software, but there won't be any real increase in quality. The only way to get video at higher quality is using streaming video from an internet source. Fox will occasionally do this with their Fox Sports app on Roku and AppleTV. The Super Bowl was broadcast on there in 4k, for example.
Squad rotation?!?!?!?! ⚡️Squad’s lookin’ to keep the streak alive vs DCU⚡️📝👉https://t.co/nRMiT4Prqc#DOOP pic.twitter.com/Di7aVK57Ps— Philadelphia Union (@PhilaUnion) August 29, 2020 Glesnes in for McKenzie, Mbaizo in for Gaddis, and Santos returns to the starting 11.
Wagner with a great defensive play to help deny Kamara, and then a quick transition....3-0 off a Santos rocket to the near upper 90.
I have ESPN+ and I just tried it and it said that the Union match was not available for my package or area. Hmmm
If anyone was wondering how Jim feels about Ben Olsen he just put Ilsinho on when he was already winning 4-1. Side note, how does Ben Olsen still have a job?
