Concacaf League update! All games tonight are a go.1 more + in Saprissa-Municipal but 2 Municipal players have consecutive - tests and can play.Replacement refs in Olimpia v. Managua FC, since the planned crew couldn't get to Honduras because of Hurricane Eta.— Jon Arnold (@ArnoldcommaJon) November 5, 2020 All 3 games tonight (with Saprissa-Municipal replacing Herediano-Estelí) will be shown live on FS2.
The QF/pending R16 schedule (home team first, all times US Eastern): Tuesday, November 24 (R16) Herediano (CRC) vs. Real Estelí (NCA), 8:00 p.m. LD Alajuelense (CRC) vs. San Francisco (PAN), 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, December 1 (QF) Arcahaie FC (HAI) vs. Forge (CAN), 8:00 p.m. Marathón (HON) vs. Deportivo Saprissa (CRC), 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, December 2 (QF) Alajuelense/San Francisco vs. Herediano/Estelí, 8:00 p.m. Olimpia (HON) vs. Motagua (HON), 10:15 p.m. So it looks like the Club Index is getting updated in real time, if Alajuelense can host San Fran in spite of starting this tournament in an earlier round. It would be nice if they could make it publicly available, though, to see (for instance) why Marathón has the hosting priority over Saprissa.
The semifinals (first team listed will host, as per my best educated guess ): Deportivo Saprissa (CRC) vs. Arcahaie FC (HAI) Olimpia (HON) vs. LD Alajuelense (CRC)
Concacaf has announced that both semifinals will take place in Costa Rica. The schedule (home team first, times US Eastern)... Wednesday, January 20: Deportivo Saprissa (CRC) vs. Arcahaie FC (HAI), 8:00 p.m. LD Alajuelense (CRC) vs. Olimpia (HON), 10:15 p.m. "Liga" or Olimpia will host the Final the following Wednesday.
According to my Xfinity guide, both semifinals will be shown live on FOX Sports 2 and TUDN. The updated schedule (the change allowing for Arcahaie to enter Costa Rica in time), with the home team listed first and times U.S. Eastern... Wednesday, January 20: LD Alajuelense (CRC) vs. Olimpia (HON), 10:00 p.m. Friday, January 22: Deportivo Saprissa (CRC) vs. Arcahaie FC (HAI), 5:00 p.m.
Nobody scored until penalty kicks, which LD Alajuelense won. with the only failure being Olimpia's goalkeeper who was their fourth kicker and kicked it off the post.
FWIW Olimpia's coach Pedro Troglio explained that the goalkeeper (btw, he's the back-up - their starting 'keeper was out with the 'rona) is one of their best penalty takers in practice... the confidence in him just backfired this time.
