Great run from the two time champion of the Canadian Premier League, Forge FC. Beat Tauro with a 90th minute penalty to go through. They have to win their next game against either Waterhouse or Arcahaie to get into the CCL or they can beat TFC in the Voyageurs Cup final to be played later this year.
Actually, they face the winner of the match between Waterhouse (Jamaica) and Arcahaie (Haiti). If they win that, they are guaranteed a spot in the CCL regardless of how much farther they go. If they lose that game, they get a playoff game against another quarter final loser with the winner of that going to the CCL. So they can get to the CCL by winning either of the their next two games but it would be best to win the first one.
Heh, yeah I edited that in later after I found out. They should be the favourites over either of those two Carribean teams. Hopefully they win the next one.
Yeah, they definitely got the easiest matchup of the quarterfinals so it's looking good for them. All the Salvadoran teams got edged out on either penalty kicks or one goal so I guess I'm pulling for the Canadian team as my underdog pick...
