Lennon for Mo. Adams hadn't been getting burned out there, but he wasn't providing much, either. Hopefully some fresh legs will provide a little more in the attack.
The only midfielder is Fernando, an ATL2 prospect. Might could run an extra defender out there, but the only other defender is Campbell, also a prospect with the 2s. Really, though, I'd give one or the other of them 10 minutes if we don't take the lead in the meantime.
That forward just spent 5 seconds alone with the ball inside 12yards of goal, and the only thing that saved our bacon is that he missed the frame.
Jahn for Pity instead. Interesting. Pity hasn't touched it much in the last few minutes, but neither have any of the other attacking players.
Motagua makes their last sub with a defender for their #10. That's very weird considering their last sub was definitely aggressive. Josef keeping the keeper honest; a routine save in the end, but good to see a shot on goal.
He is a big target to try and knock down balls for Josef while the rest of the team falls back to close out the match.
FT: 1-1 I'll take it. Tough road conditions for a season opening match, number of injuries affecting lineup and positions, some new faces still adapting to team... take the draw and win the tie at home.
LAFC gave up a late one and now trail their series 2-0. I'll definitely take a 1-1 draw heading back home.
Now I just need to figure out how to cancel YouTube TV or this game just cost me $65. Good night everyone.
I'll take a 1-1 result on the road any day. Aside from winning the game outright, pretty much the best outcome you could ask for. Here's hoping the visa/injury issues get settled soon. Don't think Atlanta wants to go into the MLS season with Mo Adams starting at RB.
Tegucigalpa is at some altitude (around 3,000 feet), so I'm guessing folks just lazily kept their talking points after the game got moved and didn't bother to look up the San Pedro Sula altitude. Even so, the altitude issues were being overstated a bit even for Tegucigalpa IMO. If we wind up going to Estadio Azteca, then we'll have altitude issues. Everyone going on and on about it for this game has gotten pretty ridiculous IMO.
