2-0 FT. Wednesday look toothless. And gutless. I'd not given relegation any thought this year - and certainly not since the points deduction was halved. I didn't think they'd have any problem getting out of it. Not now. They're well and truly in it. If Pulis knows what he's doing, I'd guess he can get one or two of the right players in come January and make a fist of it. But the squad as it stands is going down.
Agreed. I still believe we can avoid it, by that I mean finish 21st, but I'm not counting out the demotion.
Wednesday 1-2 Barnsley. Up a goal early, but down a goal by halftime. Played well in the second half, apparently, but didn't get the breaks (hit woodword, penalty not given, etc.) and it's another loss. Worse yet, Dominic Iorfa has done his achilles and is out for the rest of the season. Things just aren't going Wednesday's way.
So are you going to be able to sign a striker in January or are you transfer embargoed? lack of goals seems to be your biggest problem. Your defence seems to be pretty solid except when we put 3 past you.
#backdoorcompliment ...? lol I don't believe there is going to be an embargo but I've no idea who we'd trick into playing for ... I mean sign...
30 years ago today ... American John Harkes hits his goal-of-the-season-winner in Wednesday's League Cup win at Derby County. Qualiteh!
It looks like the "Other Divisions" section for us all next season then? now that Derby have dropped Rooney we're screwed if Forest hit any kind of form.
@Myshoe - I think we are going to find our form. Crazy right? We won't make the playoffs but I believe we'll avoid relegation. It won't be by much though. I hope you guys are able to stave it off as well...
Not exactly going out on a limb, there. 1-0 win v Coventry. Big, big result. Off the bottom of the table, though much work remains. However ... ... rumo(u)r's circulating that Pulis has been informed by Chansiri that there'll be no spending in January, and that Pulis is off. The standard response is that Pulis wouldn't have taken the job without assurances, as he'd've known coming in that he'd need this and that - in fact he said as much in his initial interview. So it's hard to see it (the rumor) having any merit. And yet, alternative (non-Wednesday) sources are saying that there'll be a mix-up in the Championship tonight, further fueling the anxieties. We'll know soon enough.
Owlstalk saying pretty much everything. To be honest, reading Pulis's post-match comments - talking about the week's upcoming training and next matches - it seems fairly preposterous to think he's walking. Plus, it's going on 10pm over there; if it were going to, it would've happened by now.
You're probably right, to be honest I think anyone at the bottom is capable of finding winning form apart from us and Wycombe. Your result today keeps Coventry within distance for us at least.
Watford have sacked Vladimir Ivic after four months in charge. That is presumably the "drama with a manager in the Championship this evening" alluded to in the tweet that presumably started the "Pulis leaving" rumor that I've presumably expedited by posting on it here. Oops.
Then all they'd have to do is track down Atdhe Nuhiu and they could be back to the lame midtable side that they were the last three years, rather than the wretched abject shite they are now. Go get 'em, Tony!
YES! Someone over at Owlstalk said almost the same exact thing. I agree. Hutch is a red card waiting to happen but he is pretty solid as defender. And I want to say that every time I was able to watch them online, and Nuhiu was playing, he was always one of the bright spots. I'd love to have him back.
