I'll grant that I'm fairly challenged on the finer points of technology, but a google image search may just be within my grasp. That said, I suspect that particular image's arrival may have been more attributable to having the image already in the search field, rather than the confluence of 'claudio', 'ranieri', and 'leicester'.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Pulis Looks like 2.5 years... @pookspur - you ever get the feeling that anybody who's any good at managing a football team doesn't want to manage us?
Yeah, when Chris Hughton turned it down, it made you think a bit. I mean, you couldn't really blame him ... it's not the most attractive job in the world right now, however much we may think so. At any rate, Pulis actually is a good manager. But his teams play very unattractive football, so it's no surprise that nobody's fans want him. He'll keep Wednesday up, I'm sure, and I'd guess they'll be fighting for playoff positions next year. First signs of improvements - which probably aren't far off - and the whining will calm down a bit. Judging by all the hand-wriging, you'd think they hadn't already been playing shit football for the last 20 years.
Pulis has given his first press conference today, and now everybody seems to be loving him! It's bizarre. I figured after a couple good results folks would lighten up and get on board, but apparently answering a few questions has done the trick. Roll on Saturday.
I've seen it. It was absolutely standard stuff. Nothing at all eyebrow-raising. I went back and dug around on OO. When Monk was hired, it was gnashing of teeth all around until after one or two press conferences and folks (not all, admittedly, but a few) started saying how much they'd taken to him. It was eerily similar. Football fans.
Lost? 1-10?! What the ... ? It was a 1-1 draw. Reach 27' Ayew 60' Edit: Ah, I got it now. Lost 1-0 (typo) to PNE. Preview for Swansea. My bad. Carry on.
So ... Jordan Rhodes subbed on at the half, and subbed off at 85'. That's harsh. He's got to be done, no? And yet, by all account (which I've read, which is admittedly only two), Wednesday looked a bit more threatening in the second half, but only until Rhodes came off again. Obviously they'll be looking to bring in a goal-scorer in January. Maybe they should go with two up front? It doesn't look good. Credit for the clean sheet; but Pulis has his work cut out for him.
