I didn't see it coming either, but I can't really say I'm shocked. Last season's post-holidays collapse - remember, they were in promotion positions in December of 2019 - showed that things were going very wrong under Monk. Without substantive signings over the summer, it wasn't difficult at all to see the problems continuing. I did think Pulis would be able to get more out of them, but once he started saying the players weren't good enough, it was pretty clear that things wouldn't get much better. And they haven't.
Look on the bright side he's more courageous and better than Ronaldo at being a wall, he didn't even twitch.
Strange goings on at the Sty. BBC says Wilder is done at pigs': Chris Wilder: Sheffield United manager to leave role - BBC Sport But United saying he's still there. They've had a press conference scheduled for 1pm, then moved back to 5pm, and now called off altogether due to 'circumstances beyond their control'. Odd stuff.
Wednesday go into Sunday's match having lost their last six, while Norwich City have won their last seven. Naaarch are very good. Wednesday are shite. 0-3 sounds about right. Whatever the scoreline, though, I can't see it being anything but ugly. Hope I'm wrong. But I'm probably not.
Damn. That is weird. Also losing 0-3 is a way more optimistic prediction than I'm going to make. I going with 0-5 and down a man.
https://www.skysports.com/football/...ited-with-club-bottom-of-premier-league-table https://soccer.nbcsports.com/2021/03/12/reports-chris-wilder-to-leave-sheffield-united/ I think he is gone... The nbcsports link has a decent video ... Danny Higginbotham made a good point: Look at Naarch, they stood by Farke and are about to go up again.
Excellent point. I suppose the scoreline, in the end, will be dependent upon the point in the match at which Sam Hutchinson gets sent off.
Chris Wilder agrees Sheffield United departure ahead of official announcement | Football News | Sky Sports Apparently they (United and Wilder) are haggling over the paying off of his contract. United want to pay it off over time, whereas Wilder wants as much of it as he can get up front, as it's rumored that Celtic are interested and he's not wanting to miss that opportunity. But however that plays out, it seems all but inevitable that he's done managing United.
A bit off topic, here, but I know Ivan will be interested. Murray Walker has passed away, aged 97. RIP Murray. Bit of a legend, that one.
For most of the match you would have thought that league positions were reversed, those two goals from Norwich though absolutely brutal finishes.
You scored in the 7th before allowing goals in the 61st and 77th to lose 2-1. You had more shots on goal, 4 to 3.
I wish it mattered. I will admit, however, that should Wednesday beat 'udders tomorrow, I'll probably be right back on the 'you can do it, lads!' bandwagon. I mean, I doubt they can do it, but it'd be nice if they could at least make a fist of it.
Up at the break 1 nil. Nice ball from Rhodes to Windass.... Told @pookspur Im going out on a limb and hoping for a miracle but.... Coventry*, Brum, and Wycombe go down... we stay up by a point. *Sadly the other option via a miracle is Rovrum, Brum, and Wycombe... Sorry @Myshoe ...
Well, winning whilst Brum drop points would be a nice start toward that. But that's still 45 minutes away. I'll bet one - if not both - of those don't happen today.
Well, it's not as though one needs to be particularly perceptive, or anything. They have the stench of failure on them that can be smelled from here.
