I'm not going to post everyone's but here are @fknbuflobo and @JoeSoccerFan 's picks that can happen for them to win. If you'd like to see yours, comment and I'll pull it up!
ow, ow, ow, my head, my head, my head..... Math is hard. I figured that I was going to have to hire a hit man to knock off most of the threadizens.
If both Virginia and Stanford advance to the final (a distinct possibility), I suggest the NCAA forego playing the match, moving straight to PKs, thereby reclaiming 110 minutes of holiday cheer for all of us.
Alright sorry, moving this week. Here are the remaining possibilities and the winners, which only have three in the running UNCG2004 looking the strongest right now but anything can happen! Of other notes, Mrs JoeSoccerFan can top Mr JoeSoccerFan if Stanford win their semi-final match.
Alright boys, here are the final standings. 1: @TimB4Last (130) 2: @torwart (123) 3: @soccersubjectively (118) It should be noted that @UNCG2004 called 7 of 8 of the quarterfinalists, all 4 semifinalists, and both the final two. Would have crushed the competition had Virginia won the penalty shootout. And of course, @JoeSoccerFan dodges the in-house loss by just four points. *whew*
Sometimes it's better to be lucky (me) than good (@UNCG2004). Georgetown and Virginia were both very good this year, and the final could have gone either way. Thanks to @soccersubjectively for organizing 2019 challenge.
Yes thank you @soccersubjectively it was a lot of fun to follow along. I also picked UVA in March Madness and I was hoping they'd win me another bracket. I agree with everyone here, at least from what I saw, Virginia and Georgetown were head and shoulders above everyone else this fall. I was really impressed with the play of Joe Bell in the finals last night. I believe he was the best player in Cary this weekend, what a bright future he has. And what a breakout tournament for Daryl Dike, the sophomore proved to be more than just a big, lumbering, inflexible back to goal striker. I also thought Colin Shutler was big time in the sticks for the Cavaliers, he was the difference in the game Friday night against Wake Forest. Not enough can be said about the job Brian Wiese has done with the Hoyas. His kids play good soccer, they are organized and play very hard. The play of Derek Dodson up top was outstanding. I was very impressed with North Carolina native, freshman Daniel Wu in the finals, what a time to score your first career collegiate goal. And I think what is most remarkable about Georgetown, is that they had such an incredible season with only FOUR foreign kids on the roster. I think this is a great place to converse about a game we all love and for many of us, college soccer is so dear to our hearts. Happy Holidays everyone.
I was surprised by the quality in the final. Not because they aren't good well coached teams, they are. It was the difficulty in terms of energy spent during the semi-finals in pouring rain on a soft pitch that had to take a lot out of the players. Congratulations to the teams for putting on a great show. And congrats to TimB4Last for winning and JoeSoccerFan for avoiding an ignominious outcome!
Indeed, I totally support your view, especially for the later statement. And thanks to @soccersubjectively for managing this highly professional challenge. Enjoy Xmas and the New Year's Eve.
