With the season about to begin (and assuming no one else started this - I don't see one), here is the new year's thread to keep track of attendance for USL games. Standard caveats apply: announced numbers are not always a true reflection of butts in seats, we use these as a general proxy for revenue numbers and as one indicator of general financial health of club staff, no, you are not as good as guesstimating the size of a crowd a small you think you are, especially from the web stream, no one is under-reporting numbers and MLS owned-and-operated teams' primary function is to develop players, not to sell tickets. Sources are always good to include, given USL's website is less friendly for those searching for these numbers than it used to be. I will publish all the numbers I have at my website on a fairly regular basis. With that said.... Reno makes its debut Saturday and Phoenix christens its new yard. Looks like Phoenix will sell out (6k), while Louisville and RGV are also at home and should do well.

I'm attending the RGV toros vs San Antonio tommorow night. It doesn't look like they will have a sellout like they had Wed vs Monterray, with tons of Mexican fans at that game.

Disappointed with Swope Park. Very disappointed with Charleston. Skeptical that Phoenix can keep those numbers going. Reno is promising. Tampa Bay had a lot of empty seats and berm space for a "sellout". They were probably translating the flimsy temp bleachers they brought in for the Orlando City supporters to the seats they couldn't sell.
We'll see on Phoenix. No team here has ever been able to sell lots of tickets over the semi-long haul. (One reason we have had three ownership groups and two franchises with three names in the last five seasons.) I'll see on Tampa Bay next week. Going to their game against Toronto next Saturday.

Poor turnout for sure, but KC was in a severe thunderstorm/tornado warning all day...last time we saw that kind of weather, we had a long lightning delay that left the stands essentailly empty when play resumed, was half expecting the game to get posponed To be fair to Swope Park, KU was playing in a Sweet 16 game in KC that night, not sure how many fans that pulled, but I know of several regulars who missed the game to watch KU Sure hope attendance picks up like it did at the end of last season soon

I am at the Tampa Bay/Toronto match. Not gonna sell out. Great night, though. Nice setup here. Rowdies up 3-0 after 22 minutes.
There was a Lightning game going on at the same time (which I was at). Final Four may have also taken its toll.
