Is Tata a good GK? http://www.violanation.com/2016/11/...keeper-statistics-analysis-ciprian-tatarusanu
I think that's about right, tbh. I remember that when we got him someone said he was known as a fantastic PK saver, but I haven't seen that. I know you're Romanian or Romanian-Canadian or whatever. Were you familiar with him before we got him? I know you don't seem a fan now.
I knew of him but he wasn't outstanding back then either. Romania don't have the best track record for keepers, Lobont was our best one in recent memory and the peak of his career came around Euro 2008. Since then we haven't had word class keepers whatsoever. Tata and Pantamillon are both good because they're so freakishly tall. I reckon if they were 5'10" they'd be playing backup for mid-table to lower half teams. And I still stand by it, what went wrong where we decided to settle for anything less than Frey's quality? Keepers are still quite cheap to buy and they don't move around from club to club as often. I don't get why the Della Valle's don't look at it as an investment.
By far the silliest thing I've ever heard. Chelsea are looking at buying Tomovic..... now that must be a big fat lie but if a super club is planning on overpaying for his services, that benefits us! http://www.football-italia.net/94245/chelsea-consider-viola-tomovic
There are plenty solid keepers around, pus once you've got a good one you needn't change. Statistically Tata is 40th best in the top 5 leagues (whoscored) saves-wise but guys like Consigli and Skorupski are way ahead of him. Dragowski is highly rated Edit - interestingly Szceszny is 2nd behind Ruffier for all his deriders
I read this morning that Dragowski's dad says he's not leaving, despite several suitors. I think his people think he'll get a shot soin after Lezzerini's failings against PAOK.
Thing about Lezzerini is he wasn't highly rated and he hasn't been out on loan anywhere. There was a similar situation at Newcastle with a guy called Alnwick from the under-21s and he was poor. Dragowski should be playing anyway
On the interwebs, the most common names thrown around currently to replace Sousa are: Eusebio di Francesco Marco Giampaolo Walter Mazzarri Leonardo Semplici
I saw Strama suggested today, too. First time I think I've seen his name mentioned except for us on here.
Montella is a good manager though. He is great tactically especially in Europe, and honestly why he was sacked is beyond me. Also when he was in charge of Fiorentina, the team didn't have as much depth. Bernardeschi wasn't a regular player then, and Kalinic wasn't around. Imagine how good Montella would do with Fiorentina now? I think you would get 3rd or 4th place if Montella was in charge. I really want him back, as I am sure he would do great with the team!
There's no doubt that Montella is a good manager. The issue is that the club owners don't have a good relationship with him. Montella was sacked because he became vocal about how the owners weren't putting forth more money and they didn't like that so they got rid of him. Pretty much exactly what's going to happen to Sousa as well.
Yeah. Well anyway the thing is he isn't availible, and probably won't be unless something extremely shocking happens with AC Milan. Sousa though is an absolute failure from what I have seen. Maybe Di Francesco if he leaves Sassuolo? He would be great I think.
I'd take Stramaccioni tomorrow, or even right now at HT, to be honest. I do like (love, really) the fact that Sousa is giving the young guys a chance but that's the only thing I like about him.
Well, it's not like we have much depth with our other players. He's forced one way or another to add youngsters in.
