Authorities are saying right wing extremists were responsible for the attack last week.

Funny how Christians can be left or right but Muslims are....well Islamists.

thats a false correlation because to be right wing or left wing that implies your beliefs fall somewhere within a society's political spectrum.

When a right wing group does something, it is motivated by political beliefs- therefore right-left-center etc.

If a Muslim group does something, that would then be religiously inspired wouldn't it be? So the political leanings are irrelvant because the motive of the action is more religion than politics.

No. Religion plays a much much bigger role in the government of the Muslim countries where Islamic terrorists are. Why do you think there is such a thing called Sharia law? You'd have a tough time separating religion from politics in those countries.

Left leaning Muslims are not that different from left leaning Christians in political and religious beliefs. Majority of them don't want to bomb the shit out of America, Canada, Germany, France and UK. Nor do they have an affinity for treating women like objects or hating the west for their advancements.

This isn't the right thread for this (@MatthausSammer ).

With that said, this point is bang on. In traditional Islam, politics and political administration are seen as unclean and beneath religion. Rather than there being separation of Church and State, one is byproduct of the other.... and they can never truly be separated. This is why many Muslim's see a serious problem with secular democracy, as it fundamentally does not align with their point of view (keep in mind I'm speaking about traditional Islam and the traditional Madrasa).
