The Battery preview with more than a nod to "the longest-running professional series in United States’ soccer."....54th tonight and counting. Good for both our clubs. Should be another classic battle. http://charlestonbattery.com/news/ric-preview-midweek-monster-matchu/
The Kickers, in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2003, last month declared themselves in do-or-die mode. They have since done neither. http://www.richmond.com/sports/professional/soccer/article_ea0cefec-b68a-5e49-a622-a95322763c00.html Though they have won only one of their past seven matches, an improbable series of results elsewhere in the league has permitted the Kickers to retain their tenuous hold on sixth place — the final playoff berth — in the USL’s Eastern Conference.
