Sign him up! Best corner i've ever seen today.. Cristian Ceballos what a man #cafc pic.twitter.com/IEl2mKXJkt— Ben Cloke (@Benjicafc) August 15, 2015
Torres is starting today for Seattle. How is this possible? Don't midseason designated players have to wait at least two weeks to play with their new team, or else their legs fall off? Even two weeks is pushing it, just look at poor Gilberto. We probably should have given him more time to rest up...
Montreal has Drogba, a much bigger deal, and they didn't panic and play him immediately, much less start him. I've said it consistently but I do not trust Yallop with the health of the players. Edit: "health"
Someone was telling me about how Poku is the main reason that NYCFC is the best team in the league. Wait till he hears this. He'll definitely join the movement when he finds out.
a) meh. He's been good, but I guarantee that a large part of that is teams being distracted by the players around him. b) he had 3 goals in 25 appearances in NASL last year, its not like he was lighting it up c) NYC traded a draft pick to Seattle for the rights, so not sure how that means we had first chance. Other than to say that Seattle was probably offering them to everyone
If I knew what poku is, I would be concerned, I guess. I know what a pacu is. It's a fish that looks like a piranha, but is big and fat, much like Sherjill Macdonald.
I saw a Jeremy Wade where invasive pacus stopped eating literal nuts and started biting figurative ones (i.e. testicles).
Yeah, he does like his gonad-dining fish. He has had at least three shows where there are stories about fish eating guy parts (pacu being one of them). I think it may just be him.
a) We'll see what his ceiling is. I think it's high. b) Atlanta initially viewed him as a holding midfielder. So did NYFC, apparently. Lighting it up might not have been the priority? c) Fire could have acquired Poku in 2014 if they had acted fast when Wynalda started talking him up big time publicly and privately (he mentioned that Poku was possibly too good for MLS in June of last year). There is trace evidence that they were interested, but I don't know the specifics. Acquiring him later would have been trickier, but still possible. Timeline from January as I remember it reported: Seattle puts him on their discovery list Seattle does nothing with the rights - Poku has a trial, but is not offered money up front. NYFC agrees to terms with Seattle, Atlanta and Poku
No, and I am sorry if I gave that impression. As a model franchise for business practice, it is unpossible for the Fire to err in this manner. They do not ******** up player signings. They make careful investments. Sometimes those investments bear fruit, and sometimes the angry bear eats the fruit and gets the shits, but the Fire's valuation always rises.
I did look him up on the NYCFC sight and he is having a very good season so far this year. Of course, he has some awfully good players around him. But, is this really what we fallen to, whinging and whining about a player signed from the Atlanta Silverbacks? We are a goddamn sorry lot. Andrew Hauptman, Frank Yallop and Atul Khosla, you have achieved your goal. You "own" the soccer conversation in Chicago. We used to talk about the Polish National team captain, World Cup players, FIFA top-100 player, regular starters on the USMNT, the USMNT all time leading goal scorer, two of the best players in Mexican National Team history, now we are bitching that "we missed out" on a Silverbacks player. In the immortal words of George W. Bush: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED assholes

634509691821928448 is not a valid tweet id I thought, but never out loud, that Bliss should be the Director Of Soccer. I don't think Brian Bliss would ever hire Frank Yallop.
The 'Arry school of coaching: "When he sent him on against Liverpool in the league fixture, he instructed him to 'just ********ing run around'" http://www.theguardian.com/football/2008/dec/06/tottenham-hotspur-premier-league The difference of course being 'Arry was saying it to players like Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Rafa Van der Vaart. Yallop is telling it to a bunch of nobodies.
I never thought i would see a coach top Klopas in the amateur hour shit show.Yallop has a ********ing mls cup ring and a failed coach from a 3rd rate indoor league is showing him up. This team needs to hire someone in charge that will hold the thieves and jokers accountable.
