The decision on whether Sane moves to Man City will be made later this week. Apparently they have yet to meet the minimum requirement of at least 50 Mio euros. If this deal doesn't get finalized, then the club will look towards other buyers on the market.

Heidel also mentions that an additional defensive midfielder is being pursued, independent of the sale of Sane. Leandro Paredes of AS Roma is the main target and should be available for around 10 Mio.

Paredes would be a great signing for you. He could well supplant Geis once settled in alongside LeGo.

Well, I hope they come to a conclusion in the following days.

I don't know much about Paredes but he sounds more like Goretzka than Geis and even less like a possible "Gattuso". But I won't complain about another good central midfielder. Can't have enough of those.

Looks like Coke from Sevilla and Baba from Chelsea are coming. Baba on a loan, Coke will be bought. Would be a huge upgrade for our fullback positions.

Baba was great with Augsburg under the guidance of Weinzierl, and this move would reunite them. Coke looks like he can provide a stable veteran presence. Heidel is working attentively to address both positional needs. Reports also mention that PSG's Benjamin Stambouli could be an alternative to Paredes for the DM spot.

According to Bild, the Sane transfer is 55 Mio combined, with 49 Mio being a fixed fee plus 6 Mio in bonuses.

Apart from signing a new player for the six spot like Stambouli or Paredes, a direct replacement for Sane is also going to be on the list. 10 Mio will also go towards renovating the training complex next to the Veltins Arena. This includes improvements to both the pro and youth academy areas.

Lots of news about Draxler wanting to leave Wolfsburg. Schalke are reportedly eligible to receive an additional 6 Mio on top of the amount from last summer. This is due to a re-sell clause during the agreement if he is sold again for at least 40 Mio. Arsenal have been mentioned to being heavily interested and are supposedly willing to pay up to 60 Mio.

Well, there would be 10 Draxler's for all the times Arsenal was allegedly close to signing him. I don't expect anything from that direction.

There were some rumours about Stambouli previously. I can't say anything about him, but being benched for PSG doesn't have to mean that he is a bad player. 8m doesn't sound to unreasonable in today's market.

Thoughts on Bernard Tekpetey's chances for making the senior team? He made positive impressions this summer and also scored in your 2-1 win vs Bologna today.

Goretzka had a shoulder injury in Germany's opening match or the Olympics. Not sure on the severity yet, but right now there's a fair chance of whoever (Stambouli/Paredes) is signed, they will be starting the season alongside Geis in CM.

Adding Paredes on top of what they've already done this summer would be so slick by Heidel.

Tekpetey's goal @ 1:50. Maybe you won't have to spend on a replacement for Sane afterall. ;)

Difficult to say about Tekpetey. I think we need some more speed up front, which would be a chance for him. But hard to say until Heidel has completed all his transfers.

Goretzka has only suffered a mild injury, thank god. Coke on the other hand has a torn curciate ligament. Will be out for at least 4 month. ( Frankly, I think that's probably it for his career being 29years old).

Apparently Tekpetey can no longer play for Schalke II, so unless he plays for the U19, he will have to stay with the first team.

Yeah, Goretzka will be alright and remain with the Olympics team in Brazil. Bitter news for Coke though. Almost identical to the situation with Nastasic last year.
