Fahrmann bails out Matip and Neustadter who lets Modeste slip right thru them. Though frankly that was a weak effort by the Koln striker who should have done better.

Huntelaar making his best effort to imitate Kiessling's phantom goal. :D

Sane nearly had that, connecting on Di Judas' cross with a one-timer volley. But Horn right there to deny him. Damn that would have been a golazo.

Getting burned on the counter attack again and again. Gerhardt was class today, and totally outplayed Geis in the battle of young midfielders. Koln's third goal probably could have been avoidable, but Breitenreiter chose to sub off a defender to commit another player forward.

ah well, so many games in such a short period of time, it's just one loss. the team gets a bit of a breather now, although many are on international duties; lets have a strong showing against Hertha in 12 days time.

The prodigal son, Donis Avdijaj might return early from loan this winter. He's been making good progress at Sturm Graz in the Austrian league. His development has been monitored closely, and will continue to be assessed to see if this will work best for him. In 32 games, he's scored 12 goals and 8 assists while establishing himself as an important starter for the team.

Entertaining first half with several great plays, however still yet to get on the scoreboard. Leroy Sane involved with the 2 biggest chances. Made a excellent run up the flank, breaking past 3 opponents along the way. The step over move on the third was especially nice. However, Huntelaar wasn't able to react in time on the pass. Later on had a header on target but straight at the keeper. Then got tripped up dribbling into the box but the ref did not award a penalty. The call looked debatable. Meyer also an active threat and had some sweet dribble moves, but still need to find that critical cross into the box.

Huntelaar out of form. Two chances in a row now that he needs to bury.

You think? I don't think Schalke's chances were of a high quality. We were the better team and a goal would be ok, but the result so far does fit their poor quality.

That penalty should help, clear and deserved call. Geis makes it 1-0.

Huntelaar finally on target there, set up nicely from Meyer's cross. Could be an exciting ending to this one. Hannover might have a bit of fight left in them. Karaman strikes post, while St. Maximin follows up with a screamer.

Lol nvm, Di Santo answers instantly to extend the lead 3-1. Scoreline fairly reflects today's overall run of play.

Yes, that is pretty much the essence of it. One more win and we'll have more or less the number of points we usually have after the first half of the season. A second win and we could be very very pleased with the development of the team and the results.

KPB is likely on his way back to Milan this winter as negotiations are the works. Hope those rumors of Schalke's interest in Gokhan Inler are false. A 31 year old on an over inflated EPL contract, I would pass. Especially when you guys have sufficient options at the CM/DM spot already. If there's a position that could use more depth, it would be an additional winger.
