So the groups haven't been drawn or anything? Will we see what we did with PCY for Son and others (e.g. miss first group matches)?
Yeah, it hasn't been drawn yet. The first rounds shouldn't be of any problem anyway, especially when even top 4 third place finishers in the group make it through to the next round. As for Son I really hope that he starts for the team from the beginning to get the chemistry going and not just join in the middle of the tournament, but I'm thinking there may be a possibility that Leverkusen might negotiate so that is the case
(Kim Jin-soo, 22, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim) -About Incheon games. There is the important military exemption (always have to ask this question ) This is an important tournament. It is important for the country and important to play overseas for a long time (Q: In the internet it says you already have military exemption?) I too searched my name in the (search) portals and the word military exemption comes up with my name. I had knee surgeries twice but I did not receive any exemption. That makes this tournament more personal. My club is positive about my participation in the Asian Games so there wont be any problems. Of course manager Lee Gwang-jong will have to pick me to make it happen. If so, I will try my best. -Can we expect good results at the Asian Games? I am confident. I think the members that make up the Asian Games National Team are very good. I am sure enough that we will get good results and play with a lot of confidence. http://www.sportalkorea.com/news/vi...3964§ion_code=30&key=&field=&search_key=y
no idea since they have yet to release what teams are even participating. my expectations though are that it will be smooth until Japan or DPRK. Aussies imo arent a big worry. one great thing we have going for us though is that our top 2 domestic scorers will be on the team.
Australia is a member of the AFC, but not the Olympic Council of Asia, so it won't participate in the Asian Games. The Asian Games is a buzzsaw, a 24 team tournament where the winner plays as many matches as the winner in the World Cup would but in a little over half the time. As sad as I am to see Hong Myung-Bo run off, some of his inadequacies were apparent in the squad mismanagement in the 2010 Asian Games. There needs to be heavy player rotation and husbanding of energy in this insane schedule and he didn't display sufficient forethought for easily the most talented team in that tournament.
Yeah, wish we could participate . Sucks the Commonwealth Games don't have a U-23 football tournament.
It's really awesome that both LJH and KSD are both having a heck of a League season right now... 1st and 2nd place on top scorer list respectively. Hope the two can keep it up until the Asian Games and go into the tournament in hot form.
LJH doesnt really play centrally as the #9 anymore anyways. hes very much of the Rooney mold and versatile though
Nearly every player on the cards for the AG are looking good. Even the GK Noh Dong-gun. [But then there are his J League benchwarming favourites to ruin it all...] The Asian Games is a good motivation for the players, especially because we don't who will be exactly in the final squad. But one thing that Lee Gwang-jong needs to be criticize for is the "WildCard's will come from the a World Cup Squad" statement. That kind of thinking itself is very disappointing but even so he should have kept it to himself for the time-being. Anyhow, back to the onform U-23 K Leaguers - there are none more than this man... Probably the best out of all the lot IMO. A real "Energizer Bunny" -
