Here is the schedule. Home team first, times are ET. Games will be on NASL Live and ESPN3. SEMIFINALS Saturday, November 8 (1) Minnesota United FC v. (4) Fort Lauderdale Strikers 7:00 pm (2) San Antonio Scorpions v. (3) NY Cosmos 8:30 pm FINAL Saturday or Sunday, November 15/16 @ highest remaining seed
My Predictions : Minnesota United over the Strikers and New York Cosmos over San Antonio to set up the Soccer Bowl Final in Minnesota.
ftl (-2) over min (-3), and sas (-3) over nyc (-6) in the semis. ftl (-2) over sas (-3) in the final. you can't win the league if you got beat by indy or if you never beat indy.
Nice that it worked out that way. I like how the NASL gametimes are mostly later in the day as opposed to the MLS which usually has some early KO times like today, dislike those especially on Saturdays.
Just wanted to say. If you are planning on watching the games tonight, and have access to ESPN3. The best way to show support for the league is by watching ESPN3 over NASL Live.
SEMIFINALS Saturday, November 8 (1) Minnesota United FC 1-1 (pks 4-5) (4) Fort Lauderdale Strikers (2) San Antonio Scorpions 2-1 (aet) (3) NY Cosmos FINAL Saturday, November 15 (2) San Antonio Scorpions v. (4) Fort Lauderdale Strikers 8:30 pm
Other than getting them exactly wrong, you were spot-on. I guess they wanted DC/NY Saturday for the NBC time slot. ESPN2 wanted games today and Seattle couldn't play at home until tomorrow. San Antonio will be a nice venue for the final. Hopefully they will pack the place.
What's the capacity of the stadium in SA? I was hoping to see a sell out crowd, Surprised me to see plenty of empty seats. Hope they can pack it in for the final.
Will be interesting to see how packed the crowd will be. Weather for SA is going to be cold. Highs should be around 50 with lows in the 40's so kickoff will probably be in the low 50's. However the Spurs will not be in town unlike last night. Also UTSA football plays on Thursday. So there should not really have anything competing against the match. So outside of the weather, will be very interesting to see how the fans turn out.
Minnesota v. Ft. Lauderdale was the first NASL game i've watched start-to-finish. quality was pretty good, i was impressed with Minnesota. the Strikers' keeper made some awesome saves. but, what was up with those offside calls???
For anyone interested, the organization that assigns the referees for MLS, NASL, and USL-Pro made a statement on the non-offside decision: http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/17...-minnesota-fort-lauderdale-match#.VGETR_nF-aq
