you are a die hard fan i give u that .... but even you cannot be so blind to compare ronaldinho, ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, cafu, rivaldo, romario, Taffarel etc..... with this squad .... come on Ney is a great player but nowhere near at the level of this players (not yet at least) i speak for myself when i say that Brazil has just a lil more of a chance of winning thanks to their heritage and home field adv ... but the fact is that Colombia has a very good chance of outplaying Brazil (see how i underline chance... meaning not a fact but a possibility) no matter what ... i hope is the best match off the tourney and i cannot wait
Actually, Neymar is way better than any of the guys you mentioned. He is only 22. That's all. As a matter of fact, we don't have someone at that level since Pelé and Garrincha.
Wow ok... we can agree to disagree there... once again I'm talking about current form not potential now i hope you don't take my comments as disrespect for Brazil ...... I'm trying to give respect were respect is due and just like i said before there is no more terrifying institution in soccer than Brazil in their own turf!... i also want to clarify that Colombia can in fact hold their own and just like you guys can destroy us so can we
Not at the moment. I think he is talented enough to be compared to those guys eventually, but is not there yet. Lets wait a few years and we´ll see what happens.
Well, he already did much more than they did at the same age and his skills are just superb. Romario was 28 when he won the World Cup. Ronaldo was 26. What really makes this team different from other great Brazilian teams is the fact that we don't have an exceptional creative midfielder. But Neymar is pure class.
Ronaldo got his first Ballon d'or at age 20 or something like that .... come on men i said to myself i wasn't gonna argue that with you but comparing this Neymar (not what he can be but what he is) with the Olympus of football is a lil insulting and I'm not even Brazilian haha
Curiously, our traditional rivals always treat Brazil with caution and the deepest respect. Guys from obscure nations that are not even playing on the world cup on the other hand love to say how depressing Brazil is. I've been hearing that since 1970. I am not kidding!
And Neymar won Libertadores and was considered its best player in 2011 when he was just 18. I am not comparing him to anyone. It's all the specialized media and authorities in sports who consider him the best since Pelé. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/wo...-Brazilian-greatness-Pele-Garrincha-left.html
Just cause I dislike Brazil and their cheating ways makes me a troll now? Did you not see Fred dive in the first game of the WC?
Fred was pulled down, offered no resistance and fell. Maybe it was a bad call, but it was up to the referee to decide. That doesn't make Fred a cheater. It doesn't make Neymar a cheater and it doesn't make Brazil a nation of cheaters. Keep your prejudice and hatred to yourself.
I can't like every team in the world cup. I have teams I root for, team I'm neutral to and team I dislike.
I used to fell the same for Argentina. Not anymore. I admire Messi's skills and I hope Argentina plays the final.
I think we will see a great game tomorrow. Colombia is more technical than Chile, but it will give more spaces to Brazil which will allow us to play more fluidly. I am positive we will see great football from both teams tomorrow, something very different from that ugly war against Chile. I am looking forward to watching this game.
Brazil is not the only one thinking they are favorites. Go to any betting agency and check the odds of Brazil winning vs. Colombia and that will tell you who the favorites are. These people have money in the line and aren't simply being fans. The last time I checked they were paying $0.80 to every $1 bet on Brazil, and $3.50 to each $1 bet on Colombia. Brazil is also a heavy favorite to win the entire Cup. So if you really think that Brazil will lose, you may be losing an opportunity to make a lot of money. The fact is that Brazil would be a favorite even if this game were played in Bogota. It doesn't mean Colombia can't win -which is what makes this sport so great - but Brazil is expected to win. If the WC were a boring competition like the NBA or MLB in which a 7-game series was played instead of a single game, there would be little doubt Brazil would advance. In a single game chances of a surprise increase, which is why we watch it. Nevertheless, the fact that Colombia can win doesn't make them favorites. Brazil is a favorite against any team, any time, at any place.
To me this is the most intriguing of the quarterfinals. Colombia have been fantastic. Brazil have seemingly labored at times, almost like a car whose engine is missing a part. Yet Brazil have this fantastic home record and haven't lost a competitive home match since 1975...and all streaks must come to an end. Is it Friday? All I know is that I will watch this one with great interest.
The funniest thing is to see how disappointed some people here on BigSoccer get when Brazil advances and then they keep bashing the team and finding excuses - "the ref helped, Brazil cheated, it was luck, the team is horrible and shouldn't have advanced" - when actually all teams have deficiencies and Brazil hasn't lost a competitive game at home for 39 years and 61 games. So, tomorrow we may see Brazil win again and all the haters will come out in force.
Glad to see you arrived to Brazil But hey, it wouldn´t be called a streak if it couldn´t end eventually, right?
