Unfortunately, I think Galo Vingador is right, and in order to get Brazil back on the track they should have been on all along, Brazil needs to get trashed yet again. Of which the Dutch are perfectly capable, provided they even feel like playing this otherwise meaningless and pointless match. Makes sense in the Olympics, makes no sense in the WC. 'Many of these players will be playing for Brazil in 2018'? Boy, better hope not....... Kick everyone over 25 off the roster, find 3 or 4 more Neymars, a couple more David Luiz's and Oscars, hire a coach who actually wants to play jogo bonito like they used to back in the '70's, and you might have something.
Wesley Sneijder also doesn't have the desire to play that last match. Not much enthusiasm among many players. Most of them don't care any more.
Apparently, van Gaal and the team will want to win and leave the tournament unbeaten. http://www.worldfootball.net/news/_n1181540_/van-gaal-gunning-for-brazil-in-brasilia/
Hey,don't be like that man! It's already bad enough for the Brazilian players and all those Brazilian fans.Brazil had to be shaken awake, that's for sure, but keep cheering for your country,no matter what! Recovery will come for Brazil in the future and than you guys will kick some ass again.Scolari is responsible for all this,so you guys must remove him as quickly as possible after this WC.Good luck man!
Could not agree more. Just stick with your team, support them while under pressure. There will be time after the tournament to have harsh talks and start the rebuilding process.
Not so sure... CBF already announced that they believe what happened was a "bizarre incident", that the job was very well done, that there was nothing wrong with Brazilian team and preparation, and that they think the Seleção is "on the right path". Heck, they are even considering to keep Scolari.
You guys have no idea how rotten and corrupt brazilian FA is... Unfortunately, if we win, the whole "it was all a big fluke" thesis will reign, and nothing will change. They will keep thinking Brazil is "the" football superpower, that there is nothing wrong with our style of play, etc, etc. If we get thrashed yet again, maybe it will generate enough public pressure to change things. (or maybe not. after all, who cares about the third-place match?) The whole thing is just sad.
Amazing, I mean .. the "we all makes mistakes" compared to what happened is too easy, way too easy. Can it be that CBF waits till after the tournament?
I would be interested to see this game, but I don't know what to expect at all! Brazil's 7:1 humiliation at the hands of Germany might propel them to put on a great effort in this match to win back some pride, or alternatively Brazil might be too demoralized and too embarrassed still to be able to play well. Regardless, even if Brazil play poorly, this will not be another 7:1 game! That one was just bizarre and, in my opinion, sui generis.
Apparently Fred is not gonna start. Jo will come in his place. Poor Fred. He sucks, I know, but it's not his fault that he is a terrible player. The blame should be on those calling him to the national side. Anyway, he is now the perfect scapegoat.
The article I posted on the second to last page of the Brasil v. Germany match goes into more detail regarding your comment.
They should bring back Romario and Bebeto. This players alone even with their ages today would run more than Fred and Jo together. Sorry for Brasil to watch them fall against us. Hope they stand up once again and show what they can. Their fans earn it! Even if a third place has no worth.
Brasil want their honor restored, the Dutch want to leave without losing. The best way not to lose is to win, could be entertaining if both teams want it bad enough.
If guys you don't mind postponing the game a week or two we could probably convince Dennis Bergkamp to get on a boat cross the Atlantic. I'm sure some of our seniors would love a chance to replay our 1994 match.
I believe they drugged him and then placed him in the cargo hold of the team jet. Kind of like when you have to ship a pet, but you make sure to insure a Dennis Bergkamp.
To be fair, I'm sure a lot of us would hold a similar fear if we were on a flight where an incident like that happened.
Do people actually watch 3rd place games? What's the point of them? Pride? They seem like glorified friendlies to me....
