Still perplexing to see Dortmund first teams coaches consider him as a side player, he doesn't have the speed, the dribble or the physical presence for that. I could be a wrong but I don't see any future for him in Germany.

I didn't see the match against Bochum today but under Klopp when he debuted he was playing in the center...

    edit:

    good movement & chance @ 2.30

he played like 10 minutes. He had more time on the wings during friendlies with Klopp.

I think it's just a matter of getting everyone on the field during the friendly. BVB sees Maruoka as a #8.

I think that they'll keep him until he sells all of his signed shirts to every member of his family. It seems like the business goes slow now so we'll have to wait a bit more...

No future in Germany ? He was scoring in almost every test game and assisted much and from ratings he was every game one of the best players. I think the chances for him are at his best now. He complete almost the hole pre season with the first team and in half of the games he played not 45 minutes like most, he played 90.

Don`t know where he plays every game but from what i read he played often central, maybe sometimes on the wing, can`t say. When he don`t get is at Dortmund it`s fore sure that another german club like Mainz/´Hannover/Frankfurt etc. get him in the next years...he is 19. It`s not his carrer is over...I think he is on his best way and there is nothing to worry about. The second year in the row where he pass the full pre season with the first team.

BTW he played 30 Minutes against Bochum.

From what I have seen of BVB's pre-season Maruoka is easily among the clear winners so far under the new manager Tuchel.

Yes and he was getting his 10 minutes debut last season for that, which is a sucess in this worldclass team with 18 and i am sure if Dortmunds season wasn`t that dramatic he would get more into the team. Let`s see for this year.By the way...last year he didn`t score and assisted so much.

Some rare quotes from Maruoka after the Bochum test match:
    • Tuchel told me to try and score when I entered the match
    • The movement and combination play worked as planned, need to work on finishing
    • Producing goals / tangible results wherever I'm playing (Bundesliga/Regionalliga) is important, as Shinji demonstrated. My goal is to stay with the first team this year, appear in league matches and gain a starting place
    • Today I played as a right winger. I'll do my best with whichever team they assign me to

Not like there are many 19 years old playing for BVB... if he didn't want to wait, it's the best decision. Looking forward to see the fruits of his experience. It's also likely that BVB will still keep an eye on him.
