The Revs are a lousy team. We will lose anyway. Score will be 1-0 with a goal off of a set piece. Lahoud finally gets his red card for attempted murder. More fisticuffs in the second half. It's getting hard to care at this point.

There must be a lot of people sharing your viewpoint. I'm in the dead center of 137, and, last night, we had 7 people in our entire row! We were letting people from other rows fill in. Quite frightening to see things THAT empty.

now that the focus is clearly on 2013, who do we want to see in the lineup?

A song keeps popping into my head when I see this thread. Ben Folds Five "battle of who could care less."

Quick poll. Which total will be higher on 9/1:

    A) Union number of shots on goal vs. Revs
    or
    B) Phillies runs scored vs. Braves

Choose wisely. This is for 100% of your grade this semester.

Don't forget giving up a goal during the last five minutes of play. A Union specialty.

    2-1 Revs.

I think it's pretty optimistic to assume that this team could even score a single goal away from home at this point.

Sadly...I think you're dead right here - I think the team rolls over and dies from here on in...there's just noone who is enough of an on-the-pitch leader who can keep a bunch of hot-headed and disgruntled youngsters focussed on doing the little things right.

    3-0 Revs

Just because our team sucks, doesn't mean another team can't suck worse.

Two up front, let's see Perlaza.... er, Pajoy... er, I guess... Martinez with McInerney.

Since we're not making the playoffs, Hack might as well run out the guys who normally don't play and see what happens.

Valdes seems to be better at scoring goals than most of our attackers, so I only chuckled briefly at seeming his name up top.

I've seen enough of Lopez to know that I never want to see him on the field again. Might as well play Soumare if he's fit and not at risk for re-injury; we need to see if he can find any sort of form going into next year. If not, then he needs to be released to free up cap space. We need defensive depth; maybe we could pick up a serviceable domestic defender or two from an in-league trade or pick up a guy from a USL-P club.

Konopka should start. MacMath was OK last night, but his communication and positioning on crosses have been suspect too many times. I think he should rest on the bench for a few games or even the rest of the season.

Martinez should be given significant, consistent minutes to see if he can produce something, anything before the year is out. If not, then release him. He can't do any worse than Cruz has. On a similar vein, might as well run Hoffman out there, as he hasn't seen many minutes either. Too much money is locked up with Torres for him to not play. If he continues to suck, then he needs to go, but he should be given an opportunity before he's shown the door.

I'd play any of the young kids that we haven't seen - McLauglin, Hernandes, Harrison...the lot. I'd even play that stiff Lopez because someone somewhere just might see something to take him off our hands. I'd even play Adu in the middle as this is where he wants to be and we really need to get shot of him next year, so hopefully there's a team that needs a few more senseless stepovers to put them over the hump. I'd play Torres until he keels over.....I'd play Soumare (once fit) as much as possible - we need to know if he can find some of his former glory....We're going nowhere this year, we've traded away our #1 draftpick for 2013, so we need to find some takers for our deadwood and restart

I know he doesn't play there anymore, but that doesn't make it any less true

I've been calling for the youngsters to play for the past 2-3 games once everything was set that the playoffs were for other teams. Play Lopez, play Hernandez, Hoffman, Martinez for 90 minutes for the rest of the season. Tell Freddy he can do whatever he wants in whatever position he wants for the remainer of the season, but if he doesn't cut it, it would be him gettin waived or something. Sit MacMath, enough leaking goals. It needs to be an honest competition for starting keeper. Let Valdes come down already, he already starts the offense on many occasions and it seems he is the only one that wants/can score lately.

Lucky for us, for the past couple of games, it seems the other team had as much to do with us getting the ball on the net than our guys actually doing it. last night, in DC. etc.

It will be a garbage goal from a deflection. Will be credited as an own goal.

Are we really paying Soumare that much to play in one game?
