I really don't understand why clubs are interested in him. He proved - before the injury - of being inconsistent. So.. who after him after the injury?
Well we are talking about 2nd tier in NL here, and it won't be big clubs lining up for him. Maybe some rivals or relegation battling Eredivisie-side? Or J1? Another thing: Fujita is joining VVV's staff next season as a coach, which could be a reason to stay.
I didn't check about now but Stuttgart and Mainz at least had Japanese coaches in their youth set-up who look after their Japanese players too (I don't know if they continue to coach), Bremen at least had a youth coach and/or a physio from Japan. One of the coaches of the German NT is also Japanese, he was brought in from the US in the Klinsman-era. This one also has a blog but I don't remember his name. Edit: Dunno about other countries and lower leagues though.
He will shine again and we will see his tears again after some score/win for sure. Just wait some years and you will see!
Yeah probably him. He stayed around long after 2006 though. I remember seeing him on the German NT bench and talking to players after the matches.
Seems like Otsu is leaving VVV. http://www.rp-online.de/sport/fussb...schalten-ist-uns-nicht-gelungen-aid-1.4259776
He might as well. They didn't get promoted and it will probably take some time to get back to 100% because of his injury. A return to Japan would be best, maybe he could rekindle some of the form he had before going to Europe, but it will take time.
http://www.vvv-venlo.nl/nl/nieuws/YukiOtsulangerbijonzeclub One-year contract extension at VVV-Venlo.
He's one of the youngster for the future Japan, he ********ing need to improve, he has all what he need to do that. Go Yuki! Show your tears of joy again!!!
So this is why he extended his contract: http://www.vi.nl/nieuws/vvvvenlo-ge...tsu.htm?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
I can not read Dutch and google translate makes such a mess that I don't understand enough to comprehend the implication you're drawing. But part o fit sounds like his salary is paid by club investors ? and their real interest is in selling him on (realistically not so surprising for most non-elite sides) ? The first part sounds kind of worrying though if I understood it correctly... rarely good when a player is brought in by anyone other than the manager.
With this new contract, he will be earning 458k, making him the highest paid player in the Jupiler League
lol that's higher than Nagatomo's wage when he started in Serie A I have some doubts about the truth of that number.
Since im Dutch i will try to translate it as good as possible. Dont mind my bad English. VVV-Venlo believes in Steijn (coach ) and expensive Otsu VVV-Venlo has extended the ending contract of Yuki Otsu until next season, with an option to add another year. The 24-year old midfielder came over from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2012, but due to a heavy injury he havent been able to show alot in De Koel (stadium ). VVV-Venlo expects alot from him, looking at his new contract. Otsu, as a player from outside the European Union will make 458 000 in the Jupiler League. The salary will be paid bij investors ( such as Hai Berden ) who will profit by an eventual transfer. The other two parts arent really important, they only talk about the coach there and he isnt saying anything about Yuki himself. This is the best i could do.
Apparently Otsu helped create the goal that gave Venlo the lead initially. Ended 6-2 Porto even though VVV went into halftime leading 1-0. Otsu was subbed off at halftime.
