    One prediction for the season.

    2/18 Soul over Wave

The winning streak stops there. I guess this means I made two predictions beacause the Wave will win in MissourI to keep the sreak alive heading to Chicago.

Don't let em rile you up Wave Fan! Stay focused on one game and one step at a time! The magic number is five. Any combination of Wave wins and Baltimore losses equaling five and the Wave wins the regular season title and home field advantage throughout. So let's take the next step and get the magic number to four in Missouri and go from there. :)

Likely to come true if Tom Oatley can't learn to behave (He took another ridiculous shove at an opposing player yesterday and got a blue card - and worse - incurred the wrath of Senor Tozer). If I am Erik Lukin, I am learning everything I can about Oatley's family and would use it against him.

Or Tozer can be smart and just dress two GKs...

Oatley took that shove because Basso slammed him into the glass on the play and the only yelling I remember Tozer doing was when he screamed at the ref about the superball sized knot on Oatley's head where he hit the glass.

And if Tozer really benches him it'd be Weber or Perez getting the nod over a second keeper.

BTW, if you were at the game yesterday did you notice Weber during warmups? That kid has an absolute cannon of a leg!!!!

I had a pretty good look at the play and a replay on the webcast. Oatley was near the boards and seemed to be obstructing Basso, who was trying to get past him. Basso bumped (not slammed) him into the boards, and Oatley did go in face first. Oatley then lunged wildly at Basso and shoved him for an obvious penalty that led to a quick Rochester goal.

I don't doubt that Tozer yelled at the refs, but it wouldn't surprise me if he had a word or two with Oatley about drawing a very stupid penalty at a very bad time.

At full speed from where I was sitting it looked like more than a bump to me, but I haven't seen a replay yet.[IMG]

I got to the Arena during the line-up announcements. I did notice that Weber and Perez weren't announced. I agree that one of them would dress before a second GK, but I was making a point more than anything.

I was sitting behind the Wave bench (right above the 324 and the arrow up... in the spotlight) and saw Tozer chew on Oatley three times. Once when he was the last defender in front of the Lancers bench and practically handed Maurico Salles the ball, who scored on a breakaway, once when Oatley was way out of position on a play (right before a TV timeout) and Oatley was on the way back to the bench, and as Oatley came out of the penalty box right after the power-play goal.

I don't know Tom Oatley personally, and I've never seen him in practice. But in games he loses his temper, makes dumb mistakes, and is generally a negative impact player. We don't need him. And truthfully, I am concerned about how much you defend him (like on the other thread you mentioned that Erik Lukin didn't leave him alone) and the photo above where he looks like he was hammered into the boards. Indoor soccer is a physical game. But you don't see other players (or teams) causing continuing fights, scuffles, etc each game. I know a lot of people on this board never cared for Todd or Troy Dusosky, but as they were members of the team I cheer for, I could at least see their benefit... and both of them were stars on the Wave during their tenure.

Other pests (like the Dusoskys) that I can recall are Scott Schweitzer, John Ball, Lee Tscantret, Nino Da Silva. But each one of those guys brought value to his team. And I can absolutely see why fans of their teams defended them... like I did the Dusoskys.

But all I see Oatley do is get in shoving matches. Three games in a row (that I have been at) is a trend, not an aberration.

I am done. I won't hijack another thread with this. But if I see it again, I will start my own thread on this.

Oatley is a thug. I have spoken to Wave fans I know about him and said he used to be a nice kid and quiet and reserved and this year with new hairdo and asserting his authority on the field and is short fused. He is not an asset to the game. Like the Dusokys who I loved to hate but they did play the game with passion and were good soccer players(IMO) but Oatley is just a time bomb out there

Why are we still talking about this its over Unless the wave go down hill and loose some key players for the rest of the year the Baltimore Blast will not catch them in the standings . The Wave have a loosing record in Baltimore and the Blast have a loosing recored in Milwaulkee The Blast are in the best Position for the Playoffs IMO Because if Chicago gets in we wont face them

Instead, you'll face the only team to win a game at First Mariner this year. Much better.
