ROUNDS: Round 1 is the two games that make up the “wildcard” Round 2 is the eight games that make both the home and away legs of the first round games The final Round is the three games that make up the cup final and conference finals. PLACES After the first round the top 16 will advance and the others will battle it out for the remaining places 41 (if 41 players entered) through 17 while the top 16 will battle to be in the top 8 for the finals. In the finals there will be three separate battles Places 41(as an example) -17 continued through week 2 and week 3. Places 16-9 (the round 2 losers from the round 1 winner’s bracket) Place 8-1 the “winners” of rounds 1 and 2 Instead of a winner I’ll announce a top 16 next week and a top 8 after the second round. *Players from the losers bracket will be promoted up if a winner’s bracket player does not show up to play the next week. For example; if in round two, there are three no-shows, the top three from the loser’s bracket, players in 17-19th place, will be promoted. SCORING There are only a total of 13 games in the playoffs and like last season there is no connection to the regular season, no “bonus points” or anything like that. This is just a quick three round cup tournament open to anyone that feels like joining. Guesses will be subtracted from the absolute value of the actual attendance the same as they are during regular season play. Those guessers with the lowest total (closest to actual) in the top 16 will advance to the winner’s bracket for round two. Scoring this way makes it a little bit easier on me as I am in a time crunch lately. You cannot win unless you play all three rounds! A no-show could find you bumped up to the winner’s bracket. Round 1’s Games Columbus at Colorado New York at Dallas Guesses are due by 9:00pm Eastern on Wednesday October 26th. *Note the super quick turnaround for Round 2 on Saturday. I’ll get the results posted as soon as possible after the Thursday match. As always all newcomers are welcome to play. If I have made a mistake please point it out and I will fix it ASAP.
