Nah, only Mike James on a 10 day contract this year. Although Lucas is pretty much that level, if the Bulls didn't sign him he would likely have been in the D league. Yeah I understand, didn't mean to take away your achievement. I followed the Bulls when they were winning 20, 25 games per year. You gotta savor your victories when you get them. And this year, the Wiz collected scalps from the 4 best teams in the NBA. Congrats to them.
Actually, I was a Warriors fan in my youth. I meant the more recent dry period for the Bulls, late Nineties through mid Oughts.
Just what I was wondering. I wrote them before last year's playoffs as being old, so I felt very smart then and early this year. But man they are bringing it. So maybe I should rethink.
http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/matchups Current match-ups. If you are the Heat, aren't you worried sick about a possible first-round meeting with the Knicks?
The Heat don't appear to be worried about anybody except the Celts. The Knicks are playing good ball though. They surely will be a tougher first-round matchup than Philly.
And their route to the finals is arguably easier than OKC, who may have Dallas, LA, Spurs, in that order? Although Memphis obviously could be a problem.
Is Dallas dangerous? I'm not sure that a post-Chandler and post-Barea Dallas is anything very special. Swarm Dirk when necessary and keep a close eye on Terry.
I would never take Pop lightly. Injuries forced an early exit last year, but they really are firing on all cylinders right now.
True - and as old as they may be - Manu is about the same age as Jordan was for his last championship I think (not that he's Jordan by any stretch), and Parker is really in his prime. And the role players have all meshed well it seems. Surely Duncan knows this is his last chance and may have something extra after a shorter than usual season. Who knows but playoffs are shaping up to be entertaining we can hope.
Did anybody else see the Boston-Miami fiasco? The game started like this - TO TO TO TO Basket Missed Shot TO Missed Shot Missed Shot Missed Shot Missed Shot Missed Shot TO At which point there was 8:45 left in the quarter. Scrubs. The playoffs can't come fast enough.
I wish they had been timeouts, because the ads would have been more pleasant to watch. The first quarter had 19 turnovers, 22 missed shots, and 12 baskets. The Eastern playoffs don't impress me. The Bulls are fighting injuries, Miami and Boston are too shallow, and none of the rest of them except for the Knicks have a star-quality player. Now that I think of it, this might be the year for a Knicks miracle run.
Blech. I'd rather watch Joakim Noah win a ring, after he signed with the cHeat, than have the Knicks ever win a damn thing. Signed, BS's resident "Hick"
If you're the Heat no if you're the Knicks yes. The Knicks are relying too much right now on Melo. The dependance is too high. If Melo has an off night the Knicks aren't going to get much offensively. Davis can bring it at times but he isn't what he used to be, Fields is hit or miss, Shumpert is a great defender but he won't bring a lot of points, Novak is incredible when he's on but when he's not like the past few games he's mostly irrelevant, JR Smith is basically the same, Amare well he's Amare you don't know what will happen, and Chandler is not an offensive weapon. The offense is based around Melo. If Melo has a bad night the Knicks lose. That's it. If one of Lebron or Wade has bad night the other will still come up.
What exactly is the difference with the Mavs last year? Melo = Dirk Chandler = Chandler JR Smith = JET Terry Okay, so the argument falls apart a bit when we get to Davis, who is still two rungs below the slow and 38-year old Kidd defensively, but to me the difference is not that great between the make up of both of those teams.
Can't argue with that. For some reason, I always like the Knicks team itself. Even when it has jerks like Anthony Mason. But Knick fans ... ouch. I can't stand to see them happy. Well OK I suppose I could stand seeing them celebrate after knocking off the Heat.
