I realize it is offtopic but it would be nice to acknowledge the Olympics. Every result of every competition, predictions, medal counts, controversies should be here.

Personally, I am interested in hockey, cross-country skiing, and biathlon.

I think Canada will win the overall count, all I care about is hockey obviously. Let's get our predictions ready !

    Gold : Russia
    Silver : Canada
    Bronze : USA

My guess at the overall medal table:

    1. Germany
    2. Norway
    3. Russia
    4. USA
    5. Sweden
    6. Canada

    In Gold Medals alone:

    1. Russia
    2. Germany
    3. USA
    4. Norway
    5. Canada

No way, Canada will be higher than that. I don't know what Russia's expectations are but third would be very good I'm guessing compared to our recent displays.

Canada was 5th in Torino, but they have never won gold on home ice/snow.

Their medal count will rise as it does with every host nation. Don't forget about the U.S., they're ready to rack up snowboarding medals.

With the inclusion of so many X-Games sports into the Winter Olympics program the distribution of the medals changed drastically. For a while there I had frequent double takes: THAT is an Olympic Sport now?

Yeah, I am not a fan of judged sports period. I kid of give Gymnastics and figure skating a pass based on history, but adding snowboarding and stuff, just lessens the sport aspect.

I am waiting for them to add the recliner-boarding to the Olympic program.

Hockey and Bobsled. Something about rocketing down an ice tunnel in a bullet with skates appeals to me.

    Something we can agree on.

How they chose John Candy as an ex-bobsleigh athlete is hillarious.
