Many of us have been thinking that we need an attacking midfielder, a top notch striker, and maybe an organizing central defender. I have argued for a left side midfielder to replace Convey, with whom I remain unimpressed. Today however, I think that we now either need a new right winger to replace Shea, or we need to convert Wondo to play right wing.

    Ugh.

So, what say you all?! At what positions do we need the most help? What are your priorities? What sorts of players do you want?! You might have specific player in mind. I liked a couple of guys on the Metapan roster that beat Houston. But even if you don't have a specific player in mind, give us an example, even if from our own past.

We could use just about 1 of everything in the field at this point (outside back, center mid, center defender, outside mid, forward)

We need to get rid of Hernandez and Cannon. Neither have a single goal to their names in their entire careers.

Anyway, what we need is a back up RM assuming Alvarez goes out there, a back up RB, a proven high quality striker, a LM and a back up LM and Convey to go away, and Brad Ring to be healthy and good.

At 41 years of age, he could still play better than anyone in the league.......but I guess good things always come to an end!

Milan retired his number 3 shirt, but it will be bequeathed to one of his sons if one makes the club's senior side.[12][13]

Maldini is married to Adriana, a model, and has two sons, Christian (b. 1996) and Daniel (b. 2001)[20] who both have already been signed by AC Milan and currently play in the youth teams.[21][22

I think it would obviously help if we improved any position, but my priority is two wingers.

If Convey can play like he use to, or Arturo is able to use his right foot occasionally because he has a great left but EVERYONE knows he only cuts in, then I would love to keep them rather than hunt for new players. But being that it is unlikely for either both (or even one) to become a game changer and now that Shea and Hucks are gone we need to get another winger.

I think the little we saw of Burling was promising, McD only improved at CB, and if Hernandez is healthy we know he can be good, I would like Zaher at LB, but Corrales wasn't all bad in that position, and Leitch I thought was very good. Therefore I think our defense has a good foundation, and with Pitch a good back up.
So I think we need to bolster the Mids and Up Front.
With Sanchez and ALM, we have some decent starting CMs, and I'd like to see more of Ribiero, (dump Elliot) but not much depth there and ALM seemed injury-prone.
On the wings we have Convey and AA, with Q and Wondo being able to play there, but as I said this is where most of my concern lies.
Then Johnson and Glen seem like they can be very good, along with Wondo, Q and AA if we get a decent RM.

    My priorities
    1. New Winger
    2. New CM
    3. If we can improve a position do it.

Indeed so if he leaves for a match who would replace him? Corrales and McD would involve changing up our backline, and while I'd love to see Zaher start, I dont want Corrales in the middle. Ribiero could be decent, Pitch could do well, and Elliot would suck. But Ribiero and Elliot are the only actual CMs we have as back up, and I think if we could updgrade for Elliot I'd be much more confident.

Here is what i think should be done in San Jose......

    Defense:

Sol Campbell - perfect sort of centre back for the Earthquakes, would be an EXCELLENT leader and exactly what this team needs out of the back

Andre Moreira - slide him into centre back next to Sol, adding even more experience

Ramiro Corrales - put him at left back where he plays best

Frankie Hejduk - MAKE A TRADE, this guy would be ideal....especially, since he wasnt selected in the expansion draft and doesnt seem to be in Columbus' future plans

Chris Leitch - make him a back up right back, shouldnt be starting in MLS

    Get rid of:

Jamil Roberts and Bobby Burling because of Cap space you will need if you bring in other players

    Midfield:

Bobby Convey - keep him as left mid, he is still only 26 and can definately still retain his form

Arturo Alvarez - slide him out wide to right mid and he could use his skill to cut in from the right side and strike with the left foot

Ramon Sanchez - slide him into a centre mid that pushes through the midfield attacking wise more than the other as an attacking mid

Amado Guevara - center mid.....may communicate better with this team since it has a touch more of latin and hispanic contingency

    Striker:

Ryan Johnson is fine, but he has got to have somebody with him....here is who i believe would be fantastic......

Henri Camara - still has decent pace about him and his contract will be up in 2010 with Sheffield United
