Damned if you do, damned if you don't. While Castro's days in a Revs uniformed may be numbered (til at least the start of the summer transfer window), it's still better from a fan's perspective to have him on the roster. To cut people without anyone waiting in the wings (a la your Danny Hernandez example) would be absurd considering we dressed 13 field players the other night. If there's ANY way this guy can contribute, even if it's carrying water at practice, then keep him around til the Revs have a suitable replacement lined up or the draft picks are available.
We only cut him so we could get YET another Daniel Hernandez allocation. That way we could use it AGAIN to get ... guess who ... Daniel Hernandez. This team (and the excuses made over and over) is really like watching Groundhog Day at times.
Monty, you are truly a ray of sunshine on a rainy day. We can argue the pros and cons of the Revs current roster philosophy of preferring to draft and develop talent vs sign already established professional but I don't think it's fair to continue to Dis them for their roster management of years past---unless of course your intent is to just slam the franchise for the sake of slamming.
"Dis" them? Are you kidding ... I think that was one of the most astute moves they ever made! No one would ever have expected us to use our DH allocation on DH himself!
