Are you deliberately being obtuse or did you really didn't understand that i meant how Girardi has portioned the DH spot between the 2 instead of giving it to one guy and how he has played them according to the situation.

Did he ever get roasted for it? I thought it was an obvious move to make considering the numbers. So therefore I didn't see why there was comments about it.

    Whatever.

    WE'RE IN THE ALCS YAY!!!!!! :D :D :D

As I've said before, I don't like to pick opponents, but I'll be rooting for the Rangers tonight. Texas is sticking with their position that Lee won't pitch on short rest at all in the playoffs (although I can't imagine he doesn't pitch game 6 of the ALCS if the Rangers are down 2-3).

Lee vs. Price should be a good game. I don't like the idea of facing a confident Rays team that just came back to win 3 straight after losing two at home.

BTW, if any of you haven't seen the new installments of the Ken Burns baseball documentary, you need to check it out. There is a great section on the 1996 Yankees.

    ALCS Rotation

Fri., 10/15- Arlington, TX - CC Sabathia
Sat., 10/16- Arlington, TX - Phil Hughes
    Mon., 10/17- off
Tues., 10/18- The Bronx - Pettitte vs Lee
Wed., 10/19- The Bronx - Burnett
Thurs., 10/20- The Bronx - CC Sabathia
    Fri., 10/21- off
Sat., 10/22- Arlington, TX - Phil Hughes

Long long wait for game 1. God knows how the guys will react to it. We have to take at least one game from the first 2 in Arlington. Have to.

Here's a thought. I don't think this goes to 7, either way. So we only see Lee once. Move Burnett to game 3. Ey?

It feels like we're giving game 4 away and if we're gonna give a game away lets do it to Lee. :D There are 2 ways AJ can go. He'll be shit, so Lee wins and we're ok, we got Pettitte the next day. AJ dominates and beats Lee. Rangers (and the whole world) are shocked and deflated seeing their ace lose to a scrub like Burnett.

The biggest problem with that is IF we go to 7. Its Burnett vs Lee. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. That would be hilarious. As a yankee fan i would just laugh.

Exactly this is why the rotation we picked is perfect. Pitching AJ in the playoffs this year is like me riding the Kamikaze at the fair last summer. Just close your eyes for the whole 10 seconds you're suspended upside down 100 feet in the air while everyone around you is screaming.

Just why is everyone so afraid of Cliff Lee? -- as if he's somehow unbeatable?

The guy was 4-6, 3.98 with Texas this season. (WOW!!!!!!!!!!)

He's up against Andy. Eff 'em!

He obviously was playing hurt when he was traded. His back was f**ed up for 2 months and he still pitched.

People are afraid of Cliff because he's 6-0 in the postseason with a era close to 1, less than 1 BB a game and has about 5 different pitches he can throw.

But your right about Andy. Andy is money when it comes to the postseason. No Yankee fan should be worried if it goes to 7 and it's Lee vs Pettitte.

    Damn straight.

Bring on Cliff Lee. We'll eat him for lunch. We didn't become the evil empire by being scared of people.

It's funny how the Rangers are still paying a lot of A-Rod's salary.

Hughes was a disaster. Freakin train wreck from the start.

Pettitte vs Lee on Monday at The Stadium. Can't wait. If there is anybody i believe in to get us a win when we need it its Andy. Come on Andy.

Was rust the problem for CC and Phil? No reason they won't bounce back.

I believe in Andy completely. The question is this: Will Burnett actually go in Game 4? I think if we win Monday and go up 2-1 than A.J. is starting. But if we lose and we go down 1-2... What will Girardi do? Risk Burnett or go with Sabathia? CC "only" went 4 innings on Friday but that was for 93 pitches. Girardi sounds like he's beginning to waffle on the issue, saying in today's papers that "Right now we are in rotation." The "right now" statement tells me he'll pull A.J. if we lose Monday.

I think he is confused right now as well. The way he talked about it before leaving Texas gave me the idea that he is not sure.

Although the question is what exactly has CC done in the post season to give us any confidence that he'll help us in game 4?

Hamilton. 2 run homer in the first inning.

Right, this is exactly what we need to give Lee.

So much for that. Another fast start for Texas.

    Hopefully Andy can settle in.

12 K's for Lee. Yankees look like little leaguers at the plate, and Lee hasn't even been getting his curveball in the strike zone much.

It's like driving past a car crash. I want to turn it off but I can't.

    Cliff Lee is our daddy.

Wow! Experienced hitters just look COMPLETELY LOST. Not even close. I'd rather have Neftali throwing 100mph in the ninth than Lee.

I've never seen the stadium so quiet.
