That's good news for me! If I'm reading this correctly (cue a second opinion), there are 5 spots still mathematically up for grabs -- both spots in Groups C and D and the last spot in Group E. To break down the goals scored in Group C, Dynamo Teso = 16 (5+2+4+5) VL Blackstone = 13 (2+4+7+__) ColdDogSoup = 6 (3+2+1+__) Currently sitting in 3rd with 3 points, ColdDogSoup not only needs to beat VLBlackstone to force a three-way tie at 6 points each, but needs to score either 10+ goals (to catch Dynamo) or to win by 7+ goals (to catch VLB). I don't know how the overall scoring falls if it ends in a draw, but ColdDogSoup can still win the group with an 11-3 victory. While things look grim for Lobo, CSS had 10 goals in gw25, so it's certainly possible even if unlikely. And to break down the goals scored in Group D, blechs_dawgs = 16 (6+3+2+5) Rockville = 12 (4+3+5+__) Ajax Chicago = 9 (5+2+2+__) Currently sitting in 3rd with 3 points, Ajax Chicago must win to force the three-way tie, but even then will require a bunch of goals to avoid elimination, either beating Rockville by at least 3 or by scoring at least 7 to get past the dawgs. A 7-4 victory, for example, could still see Ajax go to the top of the table, although key scorer Tevez versus Chelsea is probably not the matchup Ajax was hoping for in this pivotal week. Rockville needs to win or draw, score at least 5 in a losing effort, or avoid being beat by 3 or more. Group E is much simpler. There can be no tie, as Top_Shelf and LSG square off in the group finale. Top_Shelf grabs the spot with a win or draw, while LSG must win to advance.

Looks like I've got the 16 in the right order, although Tarv may be using an unconventional pairing formula so don't rely on those until confirmed by the man himself. Some observations.... A surprisingly uneven distribution across the leagues: - There are 5 teams left from Dust - There are 4 teams left from Splinters and Small - There are 3 teams left from Sand - There are 0 teams left from VSR The seedings would have been very different if based on goals during the season rather than points (the top scoring team is seeded 5th, the top seeded team is 6th in scoring, the 12th seeded team is 4th in scoring, etc.). Some higher seeded teams may go into their games as underdogs based on overall goals. I may have missed some of the less-gifted attacking forces, but quickly scanning the rosters of the 16 remaining teams: - Anelka, Adam, Arshavin, and Huth are on 4 teams - The top goalscorers on the season (Berbatov and Tevez) and the top assist getter (Nani) as well as some of the top combos (Drogba, Rooney, Van der Vaart) did not guarantee advancing and are on fewer than 4 teams, - I believe I am the only owner remaining with Lampard. Now is the time!
Bracket is not set up per rankings. Blech can now edit the bracket that I started but have not finished. Teams are incorrect and groups are incorrect. Rockville went with a 1-4-5 line up and it could be said to be having the problems of Fergie with too many cup battles at hand. But it was enought to draw with Blackstone who had a more attack minded 3-3-4. In the end each saw Downey's assist on the Meite own goal as their point power. Meanwhile, FC Touchline Ban also had to throw 5 to the backline as Fabregas was benched and no one thought West Ham was going to come to much. The Ba goal is left to sit on pine tar and Dr. Heckle could watch both Van Persie and Drogba go to work and get the right results. From the first post in the thread (with emphasis added): Bad news for Mahna Mahna, who is playing at home this round. As a result, Maxi and an inexplicably late but nonetheless successful appearance by Bobby Z have suddenly made this match very interesting. It does look like a Defoe goal would require a response from Mahna Mahna. Given Defoe's form this season, edge still to Mahna Mahna, but it's no longer a walkover. Tarv, With the other semifinal also being only a goal apart, can you clarify who is away this round? When I set up the G-Doc, I set up the home-away for every round based on the assumption that the top seeded team would advance each time. But I believe you've previously said that the higher seed who actually advances is home in the first game of each round. If the rule is that the higher seed is home first, then it would reverse what was originally posted on the D-doc and make Rockville away for this round (and needing only a goal or assist from Yaya (or Tevez if he plays) to advance with the tie).
