Smolarek, Puygrenier, and Makukula all have loan agreements expiring I believe. Puygrenier may be worth keeping around providing the price is right. Blerim's loan will expire as well, but his move was made permanent.
The Official BWFC Summer 2009 Transfer Thread It's nearly summer again and if you live in England (like me) that means rain, rain and more rain. And no football. Still I can occupy myself by reading through rumours linking the latest league 1 'superstar' to our beloved club. I'll kick it off. We're rumoured to be in for Paul Robinson from West Brom for around £1 million. He's a left back and is hard as nails. Also in the romour mill is a bid for Sylvain Distin. Fat Sam was after him for ages but he's the wrong side of 30 and some news outlets have been suggesting a fee of around £3 million. On the way out could be Gary Cahill who's being courted by Arsenal and, if rumours are to be believed, Newcastle. The Arsenal link is believable but the Newcastle one is pure comedy, they couldn't afford him.
Zzzzz not too much happening at present. We're being linked with Paul Scholes and there have been rumours that we've bid £6 million for Veloso from Sporting. It should be noted that, as predicted, if Veloso does leave Sporting it will be for much less than the £12 million we offered in January. Fools.
Silence is deafening. The rumour mill is linking us with the same players over and over again but there's nothing concrete. There are whispers of an improved bid for Veloso but I'd take that with a pinch of salt.
