I hope it's ready on time, but the last thing I heard it should be finished by late 2009, around october (though I heard they're working at a quick pace, so hmm u never know) ....
the preliminary/qualifying round starts in July 2009.. if they make it to group stage, then maybe, just maybe a game or 2 will be played at the new pitch..weeeeee

The following is from the current CONCACAF rules for CCL, 2008-2009. As you can see, away-goals is already in place for the knock-out stages.

When is Red Bull Arena slated to be complete?

Hopefully it will be complete by the start of this tournament so that the Mexican teams can christen the new stadium with a hailstorm of goals.

Calm down over there. Supposedly end of July/Begining of August, but there could be delays so they are saying late September/early October.

CR: 3
US: 2
Hon: 2
Guat: 2
ES: 2
Pan: 2
Bel: 1
Nic: 1
Can: 1
CFU: 3

I think that would be a bit excessive because it would mean one group would have to have 2 Mexican clubs, after all we have to give the rest of the field a chance.

I would take that 5th Mexican spot and give it to the CFU.

Look at it this way, after all this is the CCL we're talking about, 5 spots would mean 1 less club eligible for the more prestigious competitions, Libertadores and Sudamericana.

This new format almost assured the Islanders making the next installment of the CLL. Its seems the COnCACAF as taking a liking to the team.
