It's good to be bookies favourites when it comes to live TV matches! Here are the Sky matches for the first segment of the season (hopefully all will be live on Setanta here in the States)... Sun Sep 14 QPR v Southampton (4.00pm UK) Sky Sports 1 Championship Sat Oct 4 Birmingham v QPR (12.45pm UK) TBC Championship Sat Oct 25 Reading v QPR (5.20pm UK) TBC Championship
Hmm, looks like we might be off to a rough start with Setanta North America... http://www.setantaus.com/en/NA/Our-Schedules/ Sat 09 Aug 08:30 am LIVE Summer Tour (rugby) - South Africa vs. Argentina 09:15 pm Coca-Cola Champs - Birmingham vs. Sheffield Utd (Same Day Coverage) Bumped in favor of rugger. No word of the Championship match live on Xtra/Broadband 2 though. Hope so.
Is this just me? When I go to qpr.co.uk, I get to that advertising page -- it sends me to http://www.qpr.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Home/ which still shows the 3rd kit story and that Cerny will not be risked (for the first pre-season friendly). I have to then click the top banner to get to http://www.qpr.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Home/0,,10373,00.html which is the updated current front page. Thought I'd see if anyone else is having that problem. Looks to me like they need to make the link on the "advertising front page" go to http://www.qpr.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Home/0,,10373,00.html not just "page/Home/".
You might want to try clicking Control+Refresh when you get to the home page. That might clear the old version(s). I had a similar issue a couple days ago.
Nope. Refreshed the "page/Home/" and still get the old stuff. I think that's a bad link because it's always been some long name for the front page when you click through from the advertisment page... in this case currently ending "page/Home/0,,10373,00.html"
IE and no, but I've never had this problem before and it didn't change after I refreshed it. And I'm certain that the front "Welcome" page with the advert didn't formerly send you to a page ending in "page/Home/" without all the funky numbers and commas following that like it's doing now. It's just one extra click for me, but it's still happening.
I doubt it is a spyware problem (mild browser hijacker) but if you haven't done so already, run a quick spyware scan with all your browsers closed & remove whatever is found. Once on the correct home page, try bookmarking it & send that bookmark to your desktop as a shortcut & try using that. Also make sure all your ie updates are up to date (what ver of ie you using?) Another thing to try is download firefox ver 3 & see if it still happens (I don't normally recommend other browsers, but this may help us work out if the problem is rooted in i.e.)
Thanks, Fraggy. I'll check and see if I'm having this problem at home. At my office, I'm not able to upload another browser or even update IE if they don't do it for me (mine says it's version 7.0.5730.11). I can directly link to the "correct" home page address, but after a second click, I think it'll still send me to the advertising "Welcome" page, which then sends me to "page/Home/" (without the rest of the address) which is still the old info.
The problem didn't happen at home and deletion of my temp files fixed it here (odd at a refresh didn't fix it). Anyway, thanks!
Quick update on the Setanta US Championship schedule... http://www.setantaus.com/en/NA/Our-Sports/Soccer/Fixtures/UPCOMING-LIVE-SOCCER-FIXTURES/ Looks like The Championship matches will be shown live at the start of the season, albeit on the Broadband 2 (online) channel. Also some Carling Cup on the main channel and broadband.
The new Sky Sports web score centre is lovely. Check it out if you're following the latest scores... http://live.skysports.com/ScoreCentre/live.html
No big surprise here, but the Rs-Carlisle Carling Cup match has not been chosen for live TV next week (so no Setanta in the US)... Wed 27 Nottm Forest v Sunderland (7.45pm) Sky Sports 2 Sat 30 Southampton v Blackpool (12.45pm) Sky Sports 1
We're live on Sky in the UK and Setanta in the US next month! Sun 14 Sep Coca-Cola Championship QPR v Southampton 11:00 AM US ET Setanta US
Oh, crap, I was very happy until I realized we have Saints/Redskins tickets that day. I'm happy to go see the Saints, but I hate to miss the R's on TV.
Damn! I knew there was something I forgot that day. I'm sending my Dad to FedEx with our season ticket and I'll probably watch in Bethesda. Bad timing
Didn't make the cut for Sky's Carling Cup Round 3 coverage (so no Setanta in North America as well)... Tue 23 Swansea City v Cardiff City (7.45pm) Sky Sports 2 Wed 24 Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur (7.45pm) Sky Sports 2 Maybe next round
Another televised League match (and we miss out again in the League Cup)... Sat 4 Oct Birmingham v QPR (Kickoff 12.45pm UK) Sky Sports 1 Sat 4 Oct Coca-Cola C: Birmingham v QPR 7:30 AM (Broadcast time, ET) Setanta Sports (North America) League Cup Round 4 TV matches... Tue 11 Nov Arsenal v Wigan (7.45pm) Sky Sports 2 7.30pm Wed 12 Nov Tottenham v Liverpool (7.45pm) Sky Sports 2 7.00pm
Hmmm - now the Rs have disappeared from the Setanta schedules. Trying to find out more, think this might end up being a Broadband 2 offering - so an online subscription would be required in that case. We'll see - early kickoff anyway, so bar meetups are unlikely.
OK - been in touch with one of the guys at Setanta, he says that we're in luck with the R's this Saturday. Told me that the online schedule should reflect that soon. Sat 4 Oct Coca-Cola C: Birmingham v QPR 7:30 AM (Broadcast time, ET) Setanta Sports (North America) UURRs!
Excellent. I'm down for Kitty's, if anyone wants to head out early. I think they usually open for the 7:30 games. Kitty's has it on their schedule: Saturday, October 4th, 2008 @ 7:15am - LIVE - Birmingham City vs Queens Park Rangers (English Coca-Cola Championship) http://www.kittyosheasva.com/sports/
Wow - I'm impressed that they're going to open early! I might head out there to meet you depending on what's going on Friday night/Saturday morning. Certainly would want to thank them for opening with a breakfast order and a post-match beer.
